Cincinnati should give Bottom Line a big shiny key to the city for putting the Ohio music scene on the map with their pop-punk sensibilities, fierce vocals, and lyrics that beg to be doodled in your notebook. This is not your typical “cry about your ex-girlfriend” pop punk. Bottom Line take some chances when it comes to their music and actually speak their minds about real issues. You know, the important stuff.
So it should come as no surprise that guitarist/vocalist Ben James and drummer Cliff Revis are both vegan avengers and darn proud of it. What else would you expect from a band that counts Goldfinger’s John Feldman as an ally, friend, producer, and general hero? Just check out this pic of Ben and John helping peta2 win the Wet Seal campaign!
Yep—Ben definitely has come through for peta2 in the past. Now he is at it again by lending his voice for two new peta2 public service announcements (PSAs). In the first PSA, Ben asks the all-important questions “Would you eat a dog? Then why eat a cow?” He addresses the issue of leather in the second PSA and gets his point across that it is infinitely better to strap on synthetics than a cow for shoes. To sum up, Ben’s bottom line is that you shouldn’t eat or wear animals!
Check out the PSAs, and then take the Veg Pledge. You—and animals—won’t regret it!
You can also find the anti-leather PSA on Bottom Line’s MySpace page.
