Spring Fashions
It's time to update your wardrobe for spring, and we've got some great ideas for easy, breezy animal-free fashions that are sure to help you welcome the warm days ahead.
For Her
I don't know about you, but I'm ready for light, airy, flowing fabrics, like the adorable dresses at dELiAs, Alloy, and Forever 21—the perfect spots to get super-cute vegan fashions for spring. I love Forever 21's vintage floral print dress, Pinky's scarf-print maxi dress, and this smocked tube dress by Delicia.
In keeping with the light and airy look (and feel), check out Passport's embroidered Mexicali shirt—dontcha love that vibrant blue?! Delicia's Julianne top is pretty cute, too, and both would look great with jeans, denim shorts, colored jeans, or a little Dominique denim mini.
There's nothing like Paris in the spring, but if a Parisian holiday isn't part of your travel plans, this cute jeweled Fleur de Lis tee still can be. And how great would it look with a pair of colored jeans like the Morgan low-rise skinnies?
Now for the shoes. There are so many delicious ones to choose from that it's always hard for me to pick just a pair or two (so I don't!), but these Trixie heels are pretty spectacular. If they're not your style or you're simply a flats kinda gal, there are plenty of those out there too. And Converse has some awesome new designs for spring.
Don't forget to grab a light jacket or a cotton cardigan, and you're set.
For Him
Color is the way to go for you this season, guys, so let's start with shirts. American Eagle Outfitters' eagle signature shirt looks good with one of the crew tees and goes with pretty much anything you want to pair it with—jeans, shorts, or the company's standard bootcut khakis.
Or you could try one of American Apparel's short-sleeve leisure shirts over a tee with the Murray straight jean from Heritage 1981, or the Carlisle belted pinstripe short. And the company has got some cool graphic tees, too, like the abstract portrait tee.
For shoes, you can always go with the basics, of course, like Vans and Converse, but don't forget about the new shoe created by AFI's Hunter Burgan and Macbeth, The Hunter.
For the UK
The days are getting longer, our mood swings have curbed and we have a spring in our step (quite literally!). This can mean only one thing: winter is over and springtime is upon us! This spring, sorbet colours are everywhere, and everyone's doing Katy Perry-esque 1950s-inspired looks. Our favourite combination of the two is this gorgeous pink halter-neck dress from ASOS. Team with these pretty peep-toe pumps from Dorothy Perkins to finish off the look. DP's is a must for animal-friendly footwear!
A biker jacket is a great alternative to a coat now that it's getting warmer (remember to check the label to make sure it's cruelty-free faux leather), and they're big this spring! Fearne Cotton, Alexa Chung and Cheryl Cole are all fans. Check out this delicious vegan biker jacket from Miss Selfridge! Team it with a flirty dress or frilly top to soften the look.
One last trend we wouldn't dare leave out is bold florals. Our top buy is this English Rose vest from Topshop, which would look fab with a high-waisted black skirt from American Apparel.
Now for the boys, we're still into 1950s-inspired looks for men. Fred Perry as ever have a great selection of teddy boy polo shirts, but our fave is this shirt come polo shirt from ASOS men (pictured). Button right to the top button for retro charm and team with straight-leg trousers or jeans from H&M.
Accessories are also big for men this spring. Check out Topman collection of headwear – our favourite is their Straw trilby. Warning: Your girlfriend/sister/girl pal will be after this hat, so keep your guard up!
Happy shopping!
