When we first met up with The Roots back in 2002 to shoot a vegetarian print public service announcement in their hometown of Philly, we were immediately enamored with their shy, well-spoken guitarist Ben Kenney. After the shoot, he mentioned that he really wanted to stay in touch with us to continue to help in any way possible.

Ben has since joined the Incubus line-up as their esteemed bassist, and The Division Group on vocals and guitar. And, as it turns out, he stuck to his word, despite his hectic schedule. Not only did he keep in touch, but he has continued to work with us to help spread the word on the benefits of vegetarianism. Our latest collaboration is a downloadable voice-mail recording that Ben wants you to broadcast by any means possible. Heck, if you have to, call your friends and hang up on them so they can pull the old *69 trick. If you don’t have any friends, you could always prank random people from the Yellow Pages—they’ll be happy to *69 you, as well.

All you have to do to download Ben’s message is click on the greeting of your choice below. Then hold your answering machine or cell phone up to your computer speakers. As the greeting begins to play, hit “record” on your answering machine or the correct button on your cell—then just sit back and wait for the phone to ring.
