Meet the peta2 Staff: Sunny

Hometown: I popped outta my mama's loins in Columbus, Georgia; I spent most of my years pubertizing in El Paso, Texas; and I now proudly call Los Angeles my home.

Fave bands: Radiohead, Björk, Benny Strange, Vampire Weekend, She & Him, Rilo Kiley, Peter Bjorn and John, The Sugarcubes, Death Cab For Cutie, The Postal Service, The Flaming Lips, Mates of State, Weezer, The Rentals, Travis, The Shins, The Beatles, Beck, The Cure, Garbage, Ween, Wilco, Modest Mouse, The Breeders, The Pixies, No Doubt, the Spice Girls (you know you love them too!), Clinic, Sigur Ros, Lily Allen, Keane, George Strait, Leonard Cohen, The Smiths. I also like Celtic ditties, a few snippets of booty music, and the list goes on and on.

About me (a few random tidbits): I'm an über-girlie, compassionate beauty junkie. Cupcakes are my favorite fruit; I even wrote a song about them. I have a mating call that snagged me a husband. I speak Kittese ... almost fluently. I love writing and blogging, and I'm beyond stoked to be a part of peta2's blog posse.

I like: Painting my toenails, all things that glitter and sparkle, purple and floofy things, gifting, sporting kitty hairs on my sweaters (lint rollers are for chumps), making my own clothes, origami, making fun jewelry, making up quick ditties about my four-legged children, blogging, vlogging, thrift shopping, roller coasters, Yo Gabba Gabba, hosting Rock Band parties, vanilla almond milk, vegan marshmallows, Animal Acres, tutus, delinting my belly button, grade B maple syrup, celebrity gossip, and flossing.

I hate: Stickers when they're in weird places (like on people's foreheads or on fruit)—it triggers my gag reflex. I hate the smell of farty foods: eggs, cheese, buttery popcorn, etc.—ew! I hate that so many people are ignorant about cruelty to animals.

Why I went veg: Animals are amazing, complex, sentient beings. They are voiceless and need our help. Think about it: If animals could speak our language, the whole world would probably go vegan. I went vegan after seeing PETA's undercover factory farming videos in college. Going vegan is the best thing that you can do for animals, your health, and the planet. It's a win-win-win situation.

Favorite foods: I love vegan pizza with Daiya cheese, cupcakes, ice cream, vegan reubens, seitan anything, barbecue tempeh, spicy noodle dishes with chunks of tofu, avocado and cucumber sushi, and toast with raspberry jam.

Companion animals: I have four adorable stinkertons (all rescued and of the feline nature): Towaney Pants, Linky (her legal name is Spirulina), Kaduki, and Conan (she's a girl). They are amazing, and I love them all to death. I would so vote for Towaney for president. He has a lot to say about politics, and he's very handsome.
