¡Forward, Russia!

Bit of advice … if you meet music’s newest indie sweethearts, ¡Forward, Russia!, do say: “Hi there! Your band is great. Let’s sit down and discuss your new album over a nice glass of wine”. Definitely don’t say, “Hi, I’m Colonel Sanders”, because you are likely to get a powerful right hook from the feisty, vegetarian drummer, Katie. In an interview she told peta2, “If me and Colonel Sanders had a fight, he’d be on the floor in two seconds; he’s got to be so full of grease – there’d be no competition”. I don’t think anyone can refute that! Katie’s gripes with the fast-food giant are not surprising knowing that KFC scalds animals to death and breeds them to grow so quickly that they become crippled!

Katie, one-quarter of a band NME labelled “Convulsing punk-funk brilliance from Leeds”, showed peta2 she has a heart when it comes to animals and knows the importance of buying cruelty-free cosmetics. Watch the full interview here.
