Broadway Calls Interview and Contest

By Chelsi Schriver

The dudes in Broadway Calls know how to make some good pop punk. With lyrics that are honest and integral and melodies that you can't help but jump around and sing along to, how can you not become instantly hooked? We recently sat down with the band's former bass player Matt Koenig and got a ton of great insight on why he went veg, why dogfighting just doesn't make any sense, and the silliness of the circus. Check out our video with Matt!

Matt's been vegetarian for six years and understands the horrors of the cruel factory farming industry. Bands from the hardcore and punk scene like Propagandhi and Buried Alive and books such as The Jungle by Upton Sinclair played a pivotal role in Matt's decision to "cut out all the shitty meat!" from his diet. He also thinks that dogfighting is the lamest thing ever and hates how pit bulls get such a bad reputation. Most importantly, Matt's looking to lead life by setting a good example, and we back that and say, "HIGH FIVE!"

Matt Koenig from Broadway Calls chats with peta2 about animal rights and going vegetarian.

It's safe to say that Matt knows his stuff! So open up your heart, put on some good tunes, and take our pledge to try veganism.
