Nick 13 loves cats. In fact, the Tiger Army lead singer loves cats so much that he is willing to go to jail if he sees someone abusing them.

So, for Nick 13’s sake, keep your cats indoors, particularly around Halloween. What’s so special about Halloween, you ask? Well, there’s nothing your pals at PETA2 like more than a little holiday mischief. In our eyes, toilet-papering animal abusers’ trees and stickering fast-food joints seem like fairly harmless pranks (not that we’d encourage you to do anything illegal—we’d rather have you cause a ruckus at a demo or toss leaflets at KFC passersby instead of tossing the toilet paper!). But, unfortunately, some pranksters’ antics aren’t harmless at all, and some sick people use the holiday as a excuse to torture the defenseless cats they find roaming the streets. In fact, the rate of cruelty to black cats is so high on Halloween that many shelters refuse to let anyone adopt a black cat during the entire month of October.

But cats aren’t only at risk around Halloween. They are also at risk for being abused, getting run over, and contracting diseases like feline leukemia year round. What sort of horrible abuses do cats face when they are left outside? Cats have been microwaved, hanged, skinned, set on fire, buried alive, beaten, dismembered, and shot. And keep in mind that people can kill animals who are their own property in many states. So if Nick 13 sees this happen, he will be forced to take action. And nobody wants to see him get locked up …
