One of my favorite things about going to the Vans Warped Tour every year is getting introduced to all sorts of new bands! With dozens of bands playing on every stop of the tour, it's impossible to leave the show without finding at least one new favorite band! This year, thousands of kids fought their way through the crowds to see Attack Attack! attack the stage! Sorry, that was pretty cheesy, but I couldn't help myself!
Attack Attack! first hit the scene with their 2008 EP If Guns Are Outlawed, Can We Use Swords?, which quickly led to a recording deal with Rise Records. Just a few months later, they were on the road touring with heavy hitters such as Escape the Fate and Maylene and the Sons of Disaster before releasing their debut album, Someday Came Suddenly, which earned them a spot on the Billboard 200 album charts. They also contributed a track to Fearless Records' hugely popular Punk Goes Pop 2 compilation CD, recording a cover of Katy Perry's "I Kissed a Girl" that was unlike any you've ever heard before!
Check out our interview with guitarist Johnny Franck, bassist John Holgado, and drummer Andrew Wetzel to hear their thoughts on dissection in school, adopting animals, and girls who wear fur. I'll give you a hint, ladies—don't expect to impress these fellas by wearing any dead animal carcasses on your back! Without further ado, I give you Attack Attack! …
