The girls of Go Betty Go are known for getting rowdy on the stages of
Warped Tour, but when it comes to animal experimentation—they never monkey around.
We managed to pin down two of the pop-punk
princesses, drummer Aixa Vilar and bassist Michelle Rangel, to find
out more about their cruelty-free lifestyles.
It turns out that Michelle watched videos of animal
experimentation for a school project and still can't believe the
way primates are forced to suffer in labs. Baby primates, younger
than 2 years old, have thick "gavage" tubes shoved up into their nostrils
and down their stomachs. Their sinus cavities are ripped by the end
of the tubes, resulting in bloody noses every day.
"The people who are doing the experiments are laughing while
[primates] are getting tortured," said Michelle. "I can't
believe they don't feel compassion over these animals."
We also had a good talk with Aixa, who'd like to let you know that "toothpaste
is made for brushing your teeth, not your eyes." There's
never a dull minute.

You know what is really dull? There's no law in this country that prohibits any experiment, no matter how frivolous or painful. Animals can be starved, electrically shocked, driven insane, or burned with a blowtorch, and still no laws are broken!
But the peta2 Street Team is making changes in your hometown. Sign up and we’ll hook you up. Hook you up with tons of free gear, that is!
