Tommy Lee: 'Ink, Not Mink'


Tommy Lee is known for many things ... fierce drumming, partying, piercings, your all-around general mayhem, and oh, yeah, tattoos. We caught up with him in London during Mötley Crüe’s “Red, White, and Crue” tour, and he was more than willing to show them to us, photographer Mary McCartney Donald, and, well, everyone else for that matter when he shed his clothes and posed for peta2’s latest “Ink, Not Mink” anti-fur ad.

Lee joins a growing list of folks who are sick and tired of the torturing and killing of animals so a heartless few can wear their pelts as if they're some sort of status symbol. Others speaking out against the cruelty of the fur industry include The Used, Most Precious Blood, Stretch Armstrong, H20, With Honor, Hawthorne Heights, Dennis Rodman, The A.K.A.s, and Lee's ultra-famous, big-hearted ex, Pamela Anderson.

So why has Tommy agreed to bare it all to help animals? Simple. Behind every fur coat, collar, or bit of fur trim is an enormous amount of suffering. Animals who are killed for their fur are the ultimate fashion victims. They are drowned, beaten, gassed, strangled, or electrocuted—many of them are skinned alive.
