Travis Morrison made his mark as the vocalist and lyricist of The Dismemberment Plan—the D.C. art-rock quartet that created instant underground classics by fusing hip-hop, R&B, and playful samples. When the band split up in 2003, Travis could’ve easily called it a day and changed his name to “Been There, Done That.” Instead, he went on to produce his own solo record, Travistan, an album that tosses politics onto the dance floor and distinguishes Travis in his own right.

So, to make things up to you, we sat down to chat with Travis and quickly realized that his vast knowledge of animal rights almost (almost!) rivals his musical ingenuity. But who are we, really, to make such an assertion? Check out the interview below, and make up your own mind.
