Top 10 Fave Vegan-Friendly Restaurant Chains

You're busy, you're hungry, you have absolutely no food handy, and you have no idea where to eat. Well, peta2's got you covered! Check out the following restaurant chains (in no particular order) that will hook you up with vegan deliciousness when your stomach's growling:

  • Denny's: Open 24 hours, Denny's is the perfect place to get your all-vegan veggie burger fix—day or night. Get a side of seasoned French fries (or any of their other vegan side items) and you'll be set!
  • Taco Bell: The vast majority of Taco Bell menu items can be veganized with just a few simple substitutions. Get refried beans in place of any meat, and ask for items to be made "fresco-style" to ditch the cheese and sour cream in favor of delish fiesta salsa.
  • Subway: Order the Veggie Delight on Italian bread—no cheese or mayo but plenty of veggies, please—and you'll be good to go. If you're super fancy, stop off at a local grocery store, snag some vegan deli slices, and load up your sub!
  • Red Robin: Who doesn't love a good veggie burger? Snatch up a Boca Original Vegan Burger for a yummy meal at Red Robin. There's also a variety of salads and other items that can easily be veganized; just ask a team member to help you customize your meal.
  • Z Pizza: This chain pizza place is a vegan's dream—it's got both vegan cheese and veggie burger crumble. There are lots of great options that you can make vegan, but be sure to try the Berkeley Vegan pizza—marinara sauce, vegan cheese, veggie burger crumbles, zucchini, tomatoes, mushrooms, red onions, and bell peppers. Yum!
  • P.F. Chang's: One of the most vegan-friendly restaurant chains around. Its vegetarian menu is awesome, and everything can be made vegan, from appetizers such as Tofu Lettuce Wraps to entrées like Orange Peel Tofu. You might need to be rolled outta there.
  • Papa John's: The pizza dough and sauce are both vegan, so top your pie with as many veggies as your heart desires. Be sure to get some breadsticks and garlic-butter dipping sauce—they're both vegan too.
  • Johnny Rockets: Ask for the Streamliner, a vegan Boca burger with grilled onions, lettuce, tomatoes, pickles, and mustard. Add a side of fries, devour, then thank us later.
  • Chipotle: Enjoy a burrito or burrito bowl filled with black beans, cilantro-lime rice, salsa, and guacamole. And be sure to ask your local Chipotle if it has the "garden protein" blend yet—it's a vegan chicken available at some locations—and it's delish!
  • Starbucks: OK, you caught us: This isn't a chain restaurant, but Starbucks is everywhere and super vegan-friendly, so it made it on our list. Get yourself a soy frappucino, any of the Vivanno Smoothies (soy milk, please, and hold the whey protein), or a ton of other delish drinks (generally, the clear syrups are safe, but ask a barista if you have questions). Oh, and don't forget to snag some Lucy's cookies if you see 'em—they're vegan!
