PUMA has been around for a long, long timewe’re talking since the 1920s. And through the years, quite a few Olympic greatsincluding the legendary Jesse Owensand heroes like Marcus Allen, Martina Navratilova, Oscar de la Hoya, Motorcross athlete Travis Pastrana, and Serena Williams, all sported the brand when they had their moment in the sun. In fact, Serena and PUMA go hand in handshe recently paired up with the company to produce her own line of tennis apparel and shoes. But Serena’s not the only celeb getting in on the action these days: Model Christy Turlington hooked up with PUMA to launch the yoga-inspired Nuala collection for women.
While the name PUMA is synonymous with Italian football and gear for cricket,
baseball, tennis, and running, the company also makes some pretty cool street
threads, too, which has been its goal from day one. It strives to give its
customers the most creative and innovative products possible by pooling
its resources and experiences to combine the worlds of sport, lifestyle,
and fashion. In fact, its mission statement is to become “the most
desirable Sportlifestyle brand,” and it seems as though it’s
achieving its goal.
So, we were pretty stoked when PUMA officials called us up and said they
wanted to work with us. The outcome? A contest featuring our newest vegetarian
print ad, starring pro skater Scott Bourne and his dog, Deebo. Take a look,
and then check out what Scott has to say about being vegetarian here.
We were thrilled to find out that PUMA has a pretty extensive line of vegan apparel,
footwear, and accessories, and we're sure that you are, too. In fact, there is so
much to choose from, we almost didn't know where to start ... almost.
