Winter Fashions

by Patricia Trostle

Winter's here, but never fear, because we've got some great ideas for animal-free fashions that we guarantee will keep you nice and toasty and looking great all season.

For Her

I love cold weather, mostly because that means I get to bundle up with lots of super-cute sweaters, like this cowlneck dolman from Alloy. It comes in a bunch of colors and looks great with skinny jeans or Dakota stretch cords. Oh, and it can be worn off the shoulder, too, in case you're feeling a bit flirty.

I'm also partial to long cardigans, like the rugby striped sweater coat. And check out this cute Desiree argyle cardigan … there are so many vegan fashions to choose from!

Since the holidays are just around the corner, you'll likely need a cute party dress (or two), so check out this Dolman sweater dress by Absolutely. Tres chic, no? And if you need something a bit more fancy, the sparkle cross front dress from Wet Seal and Forever 21's strapless satin dress are both a steal at less than $25!

You're probably also in the market for a new coat, yes? Check out the faux-leather and faux-wool options at Alternative Outfitters. The BB Dakota Burton black plush jacket is fashionable and will keep you warm, and no sheep were harmed to make it.

And now for my fave topic … shoes! Forever 21 has an amazing selection of flesh-free footwear right now—including boots! I'm pretty much in love with the Harley boot and zip peep toe bootie—both of which will be finding a home in my closet soon.

For Him

Urban Outfitters has some cool marled sweaters to choose from in a range of styles with or without hoods and stripes. Throw one on with a pair of AE chinos for a cozy, casual look.

And check out the hooded diamond cardigan and zip-up sweater from Heritage 1981. Both would look great with their acid skinny jeans. But then again, so would one of these flannel over shirts with your favorite worn-out tee or long-sleeve thermal underneath.

We know you'd probably rather wear a hoodie most of the time, but since snow is likely in the forecast, check out this faux Sherpa lined DB jacket from Heritage 1981.

As for shoes, you can pretty much find vegan shoes all over the place. But sometimes you need to give your fave Vans a rest. Check out the dress shoes and boots at Moo Shoes. Alternative Outfitters has some that aren't too dressy, like the Soft Stags Naples loafer.
