Following months of closed-door negotiations between PETA and the company that coordinates purchasing chickens for all KFCs in Canada, we are thrilled to announce that the lives and deaths of all chickens killed for KFCs in Canada will be improved through a historic new animal welfare plan.
On top of that, one thing that will warm your hearts—and stomachs—is the addition of a vegetarian chicken sandwich to the menus of most Canadian KFCs!
That means that you and your best nonvegetarian friend or family member can finally dine together in peace!
Email StreetTeam@peta2.com once you've tried the vegan chicken at KFC. You'll get 1,000 points just for that. Snap a pic of yourself or your friends eating it, and you'll get 2,000 points total. Sweet!
The sandwich will be offered at more than half the KFC stores in Canada, and the coupon will be valid at participating locations. Visit the Canadian KFC Web site to find a location near you.
The new animal welfare plan and vegetarian sandwich are enormous victories for PETA and animals. Unfortunately, outside Canada, KFC has not acted to stop the worst abuses of chickens. Please contact KFC and demand that it adopt the same animal welfare plan being applied to chickens killed for KFCs in Canada—tell the company that until it does, you will boycott the chain.
