Be ‘Colonel Cruelty’ for Halloween

On Halloween night, Frankenstein and Dracula will walk the streets, your neighbor will try his hardest to make you scream with a cheesy haunted house, and all the copies of your favorite horror flick will be gone from the video store. Zombies eating brains might not get to you anymore, but the horrors experienced by the more than 850 million chickens slaughtered each year for KFC?... Now, that’s frightening!

KFC has done nothing to eliminate the worst abuses that chickens suffer at its factory farm and slaughterhouse suppliers, including live scalding, lifelong crippling, and painful debeaking.

This October 31, peta2 wants you to don the most ghoulish costume of all, psycho Colonel Sanders, and let all the goblins and witches know that if they’re eating at KFC, they’re supporting cruelty to animals so scary it’d send Dracula himself crawling back to his coffin. We’ll supply you with a mask, a bunch of leaflets, and stickers. If you go out, pass the leaflets out to everyone who gives you candy. If you stay in, give a sticker and a leaflet to everyone who comes knocking on your door. Whether you’re roaming the streets or giving candy to kids wearing sheets, put on your best psycho Colonel impression and let everyone know that KFC tortures chickens!

Whatever your plans, please order your supplies by midnight on Monday, October 17. Unfortunately, we won’t be able to get a mask to you in time for Halloween if you don’t live within the continental United States, but you can use your creativity to design your own evil Colonel costume and print out a stack of leaflets if you would like to participate in this mission.

You’re bound to receive some interesting comments when you’re dressed up as the Colonel, and we want to hear all about it! After Halloween, send us a detailed report of how things went, and we’ll give you 750 Street Team points. Send a photo of yourself dressed as that terrible chicken killer to peta2.pics@tamw.com with StreetTeam@peta2.com in the “cc” field and we’ll up the points to 2,000.
