For years, KFC has been dedicated to providing its customers with bucket after bucket of dead, mutilated chickens. The company's suppliers have spent billions of dollars on drugs, overfeeding, and industrial torture devices to “process” the animals and feed their rotting flesh to the people of the world at an “affordable” price. Isn’t it time that we gave KFC something back? Yeah, we thought so too.
This month, peta2 is bringing back our wildly popular “give KFC the bird,” mission and we need you to help us out! All you need is a camera (your camera phone will work great), a KFC near you, and a little bit of old-fashioned rage about the fact that KFC refuses to adopt the same animal welfare standards applied to chickens killed for KFCs in Canada.
Take a picture of yourself or your friends giving KFC the bird, and put the photo on your MySpace or Facebook. For a little inspiration, have a look at everyone else’s pics. OK, quick summary:
- Step 1) Using your middle finger, show a KFC near you exactly what you think of it. Take a picture of yourself or your friends doing this with your camera phone or a digital camera.
- Step 2) Make the photo your default on MySpace, then tag peta2 somewhere in your photo. Also, be sure to add your photo to peta2’s Facebook fan page.
- Step 3) E-mail or text your profile link to StreetTeam@peta2.com. (By sending your picture link to this e-mail address, we take that to mean you’ve read and agreed to the Terms of Submission.)
We’ll give you 500 Street Team points for your photo (provided it’s actually a photo of you or your friends giving a KFC restaurant the middle finger and not a photo of, like, you hanging out in your room). Points only matter if you’re signed up for the Street Team, though, so be sure to do so if you haven’t already! Feel free to give as many KFCs the bird as you like—we’ll show off some of the best photos on the peta2 blog, so keep an eye out!
