Q. What do civil rights and animal rights have in common?
A. Almost everything

The fact that any living, sentient being is treated differently—viciously—simply because he or she looks different, speaks a different language, or can’t fight back is W-R-O-N-G. And the same callous attitude that contributed to human slavery still runs deep in the industries that view animals as inanimate products to be neglected, abused, and killed for profit.

Celebrating Black History Month means celebrating justice, equality, and freedom—and those same principles are what caused many civil rights leaders to speak up for animals, go vegan, and raise their voice against other injustices.

What happens to animals on factory farms and in slaughterhouses is bloody and violent and needs to be stopped.

Use your voice this month to fight back.
