Many turkeys on factory farms are bred and drugged to produce abnormally large amounts of flesh, which results in painful skeletal deformities. At the slaughterhouse, baby turkeys—only 5 or 6 months old—have their throats slit while still conscious, and many are scalded while they’re still alive!
