i used to think my opinion didnt matter but after sending out letters and getting replies from state senators saying they would help my mind has changed, i hope every one will do their best to make a difference.
I was a vegetarian for 6 months but i wasn’t taking care of my body and putting in the requirements it need (such as protein). I couldn’t stomach the thought of hurting animals and especially the fact that i was digesting them! Now after seeing a dietician and with doctors approval im PROUD to say I’m a vegetarian <3
I have always been a compassionate person. I have been vegetarian for all my life (13 yrs) and vegan for 8 months. I have on puppy who is my profile/avatar picture. I have three cats, all indoors, and love all my animal household members so much!!!!!!
I don’t get why people still test on animals. There are way more effective ways to test out new products. I love animals and I would never want anything to happen to my animals or any other ones… =(
I was vegan for a year on Friday. To be perfectly honest, I have never felt more benevolent, compassionate, vital, or simply better. Remembering the benefits to my fellow sentient beings, my own bodily health, our home planet, and to my ever-guiding discipline is simply amazing. I shall not and will not compromise my morals.

That’s so awesome! I totally wish I would have started out that long ago .. I’ve been a vegetarian for a few months now and i’m absolutely in love with it. It makes you feel so good, health wise and just knowing you’re helping out a ton of animals. ♥

I’m working my way to becoming vegan…it’s a lot harder than most people would believe because A TON of stuff has to be cut out, and replaced with other things (I’m having a hard time finding affordable vegan alternatives) but yay for being a vegetarian!! =P

There can be no good inside a person who thinks it is okay to be that cruel to harmless creatures. If only everyone could see how bad it is to treat animals like dirt, maybe we could all be vegans.
I can’t help but get physically ill when I think about it.
As a rat lover and former rat and mouse owner, I recognize how foul, disgusting, and sadistic this is. Nestle is generally bad with testing on animals but this is outrageous. Rats and Mice have highly developed nervous systems and their sense of pain and fear is often more amplified than other creatures. They are sensitive, smart and love their families and do NOT deserve such disgusting treatment!
I’ve been vegan for quite a while, and still don’t understand how those who still consume flesh care to wear it too. If anything it is flaunting that you are a demoralized individual or simply ignorant.

Fur is cruel. Animals are people too. Fur makes me sick, especially when at school there are girls who where these huge fur boots not only are they harming animals but they look horrible while doing it. I will never contribute to the fur fad.
I can’t even people would subject these poor babies too this. How on god green earth did these people obtain these dogs? There needs to be an end to this. Animal cruelty laws are almost non existent. Maybe if the laws were tougher people would think twice before doing something as horrible as thing. Also, if you see a dog outside chained-take charge and get that dog out of that situation asap.
Taking an animal’s fur would be like taking your skin. Wanna live without your skin? Didn’t think so. Don’t kill animals for their fur. It’s wrong and inhumane.
My eight year old brother decided to not only make a change in our own lives, but make a difference in the lives of animals by becoming vegetarian. He asked a very profound question: Why do people do this, even though it doesn’t stop anyone else from killing the poor animals?” We are also Christians, and we talked about how even though we can’t force our beliefs and life choices on other people, we can still set an example for the people around us!
When we have come up with synthetic materials which are a perfect, if not better substitute for animal fur, why should we continue to kill these animals simply for something we do not need? Just ridiculous. We do not need fur. We have clothes don’t we? So we don’t need it. Silly people.
I’ve never been a fan of fur. I hate how someone could hurt an animal just for their fur… People and society are growing crueler by the minute. Not a lot of people have respect for nature and all in it anymore. It’s getting sick and disturbing.
I’ve been vegetarian for maybe 3 in a half months now i think . And for people that know that i am, they ask me all the time if it is hard. And i tell them it isn’t , so i told them if they need reasons to go to this website. so far a have a few friends that are looking into it. Fur bothers me on alot of levels, obviously the animal cruelty is first and then there is the ‘fashion appeal’ that I have never understood. Unless you live in separate communities where it is custom to wear this kind of stuff, like the Inuits for example, I don’t get wearing fur in the middle of Toronto or New York or anywhere. Its just not good looking…it looks like you are hairy, and no girl wants that!
I am writing to ask you to support the ordinance banning all use of bullhooks on elephants that was introduced by councilmembers Felicia Moore and Natalyn Archibong. While well intended, the recently passed ordinance prohibiting the “discipline” of elephants with bullhooks in limited circumstances is not enforceable as it would apply only if a witness came forward to attest that he or she saw a bullhook used to “punish” an elephant and that the specific incident resulted in the elephant’s skin being observably broken, scarred, or otherwise damaged—an almost impossible task given that this abuse often happens behind the scenes, that handlers commonly strike elephants in places that hide the wounds, such as behind the ears or under the chin, and that circuses use a gray powder called “Wonder Dust” that blends in with elephants’ skin to cover up any wounds. A total ban on bullhooks is the only way to stop circuses from beating elephants. Elephants and other animals suffer as much as we would if we were in that situation.
Especially with winter coming soon, please keep on the lookout for neglectful people and gently remind them that their animal companions deserve a warm home too, or report them if need be. Too many newspaper reports of beautiful animals abused and neglected because of ignorance or downright cruelty.

Ever since i can remember ive hated meat. the thought of eating a poor innocent animal became too much for me and at age 13 i became a vegetarian. it has been extremely hard because everyone else in my family eats animals and the constantly pick on me and keep complaining how inconvenient my diet is. Its been three years now and im 16 and have just become a vegan. i have argued and managed to get vegan food at our school canteen however since ive voiced my opinion about animal rights ive lost quite a few friends because they all think im over reacting. through all of this im still extremly glad that ive stuck up for creatures who can not stick up for themselves.

Beluga whales have distinct personalities and form strong familial bonds, and when confined to aquarium tanks, their natural instincts are thwarted. Instead of swimming for miles a day with their families, these complex and intelligent animals are reduced to swimming in endless circles in barren tanks and often performing silly stunts for marine-park crowds.
Aquariums are a stifling environment for beluga whales compared to the vast open ocean. Captive whales live half as long as their counterparts in the wild. Please give these animals a chance at a normal, fulfilling life by refusing to allow the Georgia Aquarium to import them for breeding purposes—which have proved to be unsuccessful in a stressful, captive atmosphere. These unique animals deserve much more than to be treated as moneymaking commodities.
People are so oblivious to whats happening around them. I was talking to this girls at my school and they were talking about bacon. I said we should all go vegetarian ( even though I already am) Save the animals! One of the girls said ” why should we save the animals lions eat us. I wanted to tell her its fair to compair lions to pig, chickens or cows that you eat. Yes, a lion would eat us but they dont think as we do but by then she had changed the subject and I left woundering if the world was every going to understand the pain animals suffer for a snack you eat.
I used to eat meat, but then I began to think at around 14. Why is it okay to eat chicken and other meats when we dont kill dogs and cats for consumption? Why is it that vegetarians and vegans live healthy lives whereas meat eaters have problems? I knew that there was a difference between right and wrong, and switched from being a full time meat eater to a pescetarian at 14, vegetarian at 16, and vegan at 18. I lost quite a few friends, because they never want to talk about animal rights, but I dont care. People need to realize the amount of suffering these animals go through. And until the day I die, it will be something that I will always express to everyone.get the word out.

I am 15 years old , i have recently just started to try going vegetarian after i saw a video of my moms close friends about this website and it has changed my views completly! when i watched it i cried and got sick . Ive always thought about going vegetarian never did it because i never had anything to really move me enough to actually do it . But im trying it, and its not as hard as i thought it would be. i will admit that yes i still sometimes eat meat but its because my family makes me because they dont think the way i think, but i dont like it at all . i would rather not but my family sometimes takes over , and i know just saying that some people may have somethings to say and i just want you all to know i am opposed to it unless i must but as i see more on it and learn that WILL change!

Before the video started I was telling myself to watch it but I wouldn’t. I hate to look at the animals being tortured and knowing that I can’t really do any thing than sending letters to farmers. This video is horrific and identifies to everyone including the non-believers that things like this unfortunetly happen. My mate was horrified and speechless too. I cant believe that this happens everyday and nothing is done about it!!!
I was entirely ripped apart when I saw this video. This is the epitome of revolting and mutilating horror! But the worst part is that this truth is happening every single day, and nothing is being done to prevent it. That simple fact is what amplifies the undeniable disgust in this video. I cannot begin to think of the kind of people that would actually carry out these empty acts towards these defenseless animals. The friends who’ve I showed this video to have the exact same reaction as I did when I first saw it. They all got so sick and choked up with tears of anger and repulsion that they went speechless. Then they immediately they gave up meat and dairy products and wanted to show the video to people that they knew. For four years I’ve been relentlessly trying to convert them over to being vegan and nothing seemed to really stick for them. Not until this video. It is absolutely mind blowing how people do not understand that these living creatures have as much emotion, feelings and capability to love just as we do. Our apposable thumbs seems to make us the most superior species and disrespectful towards all others.
One of the highlights of each day is opening the front door to find my gorgeous (shelter adopted) puppy sprinting towards me, with her tail wagging and eccstatic for me to just be home. Such a dramatic display of affection, for no apparent reason, is a somewhat rare experience in everyday human life.
A common excuse for the torture and killing of animals is that it is ‘basic instinct and we need it to survive’, Meat may have been a significant part of diet since the caveman days, but think of the difference between the contrast of techniques used. We only killed what we needed, for food and warmth, humanely. There is no excuse for using fur in clothing, we have advanced as human kind to have countless other materials at our disposable.
Go fur free! Or else! ~ We wear animals fur, and its horrible beyond comparison.. i always say, what if the roles were reversed? would we be thrilled if we say someone wearing our skin as a fancy jacket, or scarf, or purse??
I refuse to ever wear fur, I always make sure I never ever buy fur products. I just bought a “leather” jacket last night that had a tag that said “No Animals Were Harmed In The Making Of This Jacket” and “100% Vegan!”

Going fur-free! We are all one on this planet, so why treat some animals as if their not? By killing them for some style? It’s horrible, it just makes us even more of an “animal” as the ones were killing. It’s just not right. I pledge to go fur free from now and on, no more boots with fur or sheep skin, of winter coats with fur in them. It’s just not right in my mind.
Animals don’t deserve to be cut up in a science class. They should be free or at least given a good home. This year, my chemistry class is supposedly going to dissect random animals to see “how they tick”. When everyone got excited and asked me if I was excited too, I glared at them and asked how they’d like it if I strapped them to a metal plate and cut into them for a while.

It’s a lot easier to spread the word for animals than I had thought. I know people say that what I believe is preposterous, but I think that they are preposterous for not taking the time to even understand why I feel the way I do.

I want to begin with an apology. I am not vegan. Its rather complicated to convert being raised as a carnivore. I still would like to make as much of a difference for the animals as possible. I’m starting with small steps, ie. Spreading the word about animal cruelty and hopefully I’ll reach the level of vegetarian! Peta has had a huge impact on my life since I did a school presentation on animal cruelt. Thank you for opening my eyes to the evil that exists amongst us.

I love all animals but I have a particular soft spot for dogs. It makes me want to cry when i see these poor sweet animals chained up like that. There is absolutely no reason they should be. Its cruel and heartless to treat an animal that way.
August 2011 I made the firm decision to become a vegetarian. Always being an animal lover I’ve stuck to this decision with ease. Immediately after shunning meat I had more energy, felt better. Simply better. This is the best choice I’ve ever made in my life. I encourage everyone I meet to make the choice to become vegetarian! :]

I know you see this and are going to stop reading. But please, be polite and hear me out. There is no reason good enough to do this to animals. There is no excuse for thinking this is okay. Animals have feelings, and a lot of them are more aware and smart than many people may think. But most importantly, they have feelings. If one human did this to another, it would be considered “Inhumane” and they would probably be arrested. So why does it make it okay to torture poor animals that haven’t done anything to you? I believe these animals – like humans – deserve to live a pain free life. And if something natural happens, then it was meant to be. But animals were not put on this Earth for you to dismember them. My dream is that people stop being so ignorant about issues regarding animals. Many people are aware that there is animal abuse and mutilation happening, and that their lifestyle supports this, but they choose to ignore it because they simply do not care enough to change. I hope that one day, just as females and African Americans were officially deemed equal, that animals will be viewed the same way. I hope that people will stop exploiting animals and stop subjecting them to cruel, unnatural conditions for their own selfish desires and greed. My dream is that one day, people everywhere will choose a compassionate lifestyle in which no living being is harmed for them.

I never really liked the look of fur. It’s just gross. And coat hood linings with fur aren’t all that attractive. I do like faux fur though, for animal type hats. I like to pretend that I’m a kitty.
This video made me cry, just watching the poor animals get tormented and beaten. Just put them down with a shot or something. Slitting the throats of these animals is too much when they are alive. I hope they at least find a better way to do it than torture.

Once me and some friens climed up on the schoolroof at 4, we just sat there in silent and thought about oure world…. how I wish it was a better place and you didnt have any guilt when U bought new clouthings or make up because some animal had to pay for it!! That’s so terrible. It’s like, why get a dog if you won’t care for it? Dogs, as well as ALL ANIMALS, have feelings. They aren’t toys you can leave outside, they are living creatures who just like us, need proper care and love. :’(

I love that I’m fur-free. I refuse to make a pathetic “fashion statement” with the skin of these beautiful creatures. I don’t even sit on leather couches (and unfortunately that means I can’t ever sit on the couches at my parents house, but there ya go).
I don’t understand people who can wear fur. How can you wear the skin of another creature. If someone were to wear a coat of human skin, people would say it is disgusting. Do people not realize that animal fur is the same way? Let them keep their skins, it belongs to them! No creature should have to die because people say so!
I just had watched the “meat to Meet” video, felt so sick and sad and shared the same. Its really sick that These animals are subjected to enormous torture through out their Lifetime and are made to meet a tragic end by killing them with the most inhumane and painful methods just for the sake of food or hamburgers. I often wonder how much wisdom is required to just understand that 20 years of Life is more valuable than 2 minutes of pleasure we get by killing and eating those poor animals. Enslaved since birth, raped for production, tortured, and tormented, torn apart from their families, and babies and finally are killed by the most barbaric methods – This is how the Animals’ life were made by Humans and I vociferously condemn it. I prefer to be their voice and will NEVER Give Up.
An animals fur doesn’t belong on our bodies it belongs on theirs they need it to survive wheather to keep warm or just to look pretty it’s theirs not ours.
The only time my dogs are on a leash is when i take them for a walk. People who keep them on leashes are obviously not ready for that type of responsibility

I never liked Petco. I had my dog groomed there once and they cut their skin because they weren’t paying attention. And they handle them really roughly in the obedience school.

I have been a vegitarian since I was six years old. People always ask me “why?” I have no real comment to this. I have thought it over and over but there isnt just one reason as to why. There are multiples. I feel if you want to eat meat, that you have to kill it yourself. Most people would not eat it. I also refuse to drink milk. I hate cheese and other dairy products. I grew up on a farm and the first animal I ever fed in my life was a calf. I don’t remember exactly but I think he got sick so we had to feed him a special pink formula out of a bottle. It was a life changing experience for me. Thanks Peta2 for reminding me that I am not alone.

There are two types of people that allow such horrible things to happen to Animals. There are Ignorant people and there are Arrogant people. Ignorant people can change with a simple push in the right direction. Arrogant people will never change. As Vegans and Vegetarians become more common as indeed the latter is with many people world wide being Lacto-Ovo Vegetarian we will see a rise in Animal Welfare standards and ultimately the Abolition of Animals being used for food or entertainment. When this happens the Arrogant ones will be seen as the criminals they are and justice WILL be SERVED!
They should make more commercials for this on tv, inspire people to help. But not all those sad commercials that make u change the channel, I ALWAYS do that becuz its so sad i never actually get to hear the meaningful message :/
i have a dog that had been chained and neglected for the first year and a half of her life and when someone tried to save her from her previous owners and bring her to a shelter they actually refused to give her up for several months………why would you get a dog in the first place or try to keep it if your not keeping her in your home or providing her with eno9ugh food it just doesnt make sense

As a rat lover and former rat and mouse owner, I recognize how foul, disgusting, and sadistic this is. Nestle is generally bad with testing on animals but this is outrageous. My eight year old brother decided to not only make a change in our own lives, but make a difference in the lives of animals by becoming vegetarian. He asked a very profound question: Why do people do this, even though it doesn’t stop anyone else from killing the poor animals?” We are also Christians, and we talked about how even though we can’t force our beliefs and life choices on other people, we can still set an example for the people around us!

Fur bothers me on alot of levels, obviously the animal cruelty is first and then there is the ‘fashion appeal’ that I have never understood. Unless you live in separate communities where it is custom to wear this kind of stuff, like the Inuits for example, I don’t get wearing fur in the middle of Toronto or New York or anywhere. I am writing to ask you to support the ordinance banning all use of bullhooks on elephants that was introduced by councilmembers Felicia Moore and Natalyn Archibong. While well intended, the recently passed ordinance prohibiting the “discipline” of elephants with bullhooks in limited circumstances is not enforceable as it would apply only if a witness came forward to attest that he or she saw a bullhook used to “punish” an elephant and that the specific incident resulted in the elephant’s skin being observably broken, scarred, or otherwise damaged—an almost impossible task given that this abuse often happens behind the scenes, that handlers commonly strike elephants in places that hide the wounds, such as behind the ears or under the chin, and that circuses use a gray powder called “Wonder Dust” that blends in with elephants’ skin to cover up any wounds. Ever since i can remember ive hated meat. the thought of eating a poor innocent animal became too much for me and at age 13 i became a vegetarian. it has been extremely hard because everyone else in my family eats animals and the constantly pick on me and keep complaining how inconvenient my diet is. Its been three years now and im 16 and have just become a vegan. i have argued and managed to get vegan food at our school canteen however since ive voiced my opinion about animal rights ive lost quite a few friends because they all think im over reacting. through all of this im still extremly glad that ive stuck up for creatures who can not stick up for themselves.

I am writing to ask that you deny the Georgia Aquarium a permit to import 18 wild-caught beluga whales from Russia for captive breeding and exhibition at marine parks and aquariums. Beluga breeding programs in the United States have been largely unsuccessful, and there is no compelling evidence that these programs create interest in, educate visitors on, or change people’s attitudes about conservation. Beluga whales have distinct personalities and form strong familial bonds, and when confined to aquarium tanks, their natural instincts are thwarted. Instead of swimming for miles a day with their families, these complex and intelligent animals are reduced to swimming in endless circles in barren tanks and often performing silly stunts for marine-park crowds.
Aquariums are a stifling environment for beluga whales compared to the vast open ocean. Captive whales live half as long as their counterparts in the wild. Please give these animals a chance at a normal, fulfilling life by refusing to allow the Georgia Aquarium to import them for breeding purposes—which have proved to be unsuccessful in a stressful, captive atmosphere. These unique animals deserve much more than to be treated as moneymaking commodities.

People are so oblivious to whats happening around them. I was talking to this girls at my school and they were talking about bacon. I said we should all go vegetarian ( even though I already am) Save the animals! One of the girls said ” why should we save the animals lions eat us. I wanted to tell her its fair to compair lions to pig, chickens or cows that you eat. Yes, a lion would eat us but they dont think as we do but by then she had changed the subject and I left woundering if the world was every going to understand the pain animals suffer for a snack you eat.

I used to eat meat, but then I began to think at around 14. Why is it okay to eat chicken and other meats when we dont kill dogs and cats for consumption? Why is it that vegetarians and vegans live healthy lives whereas meat eaters have problems? I knew that there was a difference between right and wrong, and switched from being a full time meat eater to a pescetarian at 14, vegetarian at 16, and vegan at 18. I lost quite a few friends, because they never want to talk about animal rights, but I dont care. People need to realize the amount of suffering these animals go through. And until the day I die, it will be something that I will always express to everyone.get the word out.

I was entirely ripped apart when I saw this video. This is the epitome of revolting and mutilating horror! But the worst part is that this truth is happening every single day, and nothing is being done to prevent it. That simple fact is what amplifies the undeniable disgust in this video. I cannot begin to think of the kind of people that would actually carry out these empty acts towards these defenseless animals. The friends who’ve I showed this video to have the exact same reaction as I did when I first saw it. They all got so sick and choked up with tears of anger and repulsion that they went speechless. Then they immediately they gave up meat and dairy products and wanted to show the video to people that they knew. For four years I’ve been relentlessly trying to convert them over to being vegan and nothing seemed to really stick for them. Not until this video. I was so shocked at how fast this simple one-minute video spoke to them and how deeply it impacted these kids’ everyday lives. This video is far more powerful than meager words alone. I cannot thank you guys enough for helping shine the light on what people would never be able to see on their own. It is absolutely mind blowing how people do not understand that these living creatures have as much emotion, feelings and capability to love just as we do. Our apposable thumbs seems to make us the most superior species and disrespectful towards all others.
One of the highlights of each day is opening the front door to find my gorgeous (shelter adopted) puppy sprinting towards me, with her tail wagging and eccstatic for me to just be home. Such a dramatic display of affection, for no apparent reason, is a somewhat rare experience in everyday human life.
A common excuse for the torture and killing of animals is that it is ‘basic instinct and we need it to survive’, Meat may have been a significant part of diet since the caveman days, but think of the difference between the contrast of techniques used. We only killed what we needed, for food and warmth, humanely. There is no excuse for using fur in clothing, we have advanced as human kind to have countless other materials at our disposable.

Animals don’t deserve to be cut up in a science class. They should be free or at least given a good home. This year, my chemistry class is supposedly going to dissect random animals to see “how they tick”. I want to begin with an apology. I am not vegan. Its rather complicated to convert being raised as a carnivore. I still would like to make as much of a difference for the animals as possible. I’m starting with small steps, ie. Spreading the word about animal cruelty and hopefully I’ll reach the level of vegetarian! August 2011 I made the firm decision to become a vegetarian. Always being an animal lover I’ve stuck to this decision with ease. Immediately after shunning meat I had more energy, felt better. I know you see this and are going to stop reading. But please, be polite and hear me out. There is no reason good enough to do this to animals. There is no excuse for thinking this is okay. Animals have feelings, and a lot of them are more aware and smart than many people may think. But most importantly, they have feelings. If one human did this to another, it would be considered “Inhumane” and they would probably be arrested. So why does it make it okay to torture poor animals that haven’t done anything to you? My dream is that people stop being so ignorant about issues regarding animals. Many people are aware that there is animal abuse and mutilation happening, and that their lifestyle supports this, but they choose to ignore it because they simply do not care enough to change. I just had watched the “meat to Meet” video, felt so sick and sad and shared the same. Its really sick that These animals are subjected to enormous torture through out their Lifetime and are made to meet a tragic end by killing them with the most inhumane and painful methods just for the sake of food or hamburgers. I have been a vegitarian since I was six years old. People always ask me “why?” I have no real comment to this. I have thought it over and over but there isnt just one reason as to why. There are multiples. I feel if you want to eat meat, that you have to kill it yourself. Most people would not eat it. I also refuse to drink milk. I hate cheese and other dairy products. I grew up on a farm and the first animal I ever fed in my life was a calf. I don’t remember exactly but I think he got sick so we had to feed him a special pink formula out of a bottle. It was a life changing experience for me. Thanks Peta2 for reminding me that I am not alone.

i have a dog that had been chained and neglected for the first year and a half of her life and when someone tried to save her from her previous owners and bring her to a shelter they actually refused to give her up for several months………why would you get a dog in the first place or try to keep it if your not keeping her in your home or providing her with eno9ugh food it just doesnt make sense
