Jack’s Pet Center in Great Falls, Mont., reportedly keeps six capuchin monkeys on display, cruelly confined to a tiny, depressing cell with no enrichment.
Capuchin monkeys are undomesticated animals, meaning that their wild instincts are still intact. They’re notoriously high-strung and easily stressed, and when confined, they’re subjected to bizarre stimuli that they’re not used to and people (whom they would naturally avoid) crowding around them—all without means of escape. Deprived of mental stimulation, exercise, and the opportunity to exist as nature intended, they can develop neurotic and self-destructive behaviors.
PETA asked the store’s owners to allow us to find a sanctuary where these animals can live in a more natural environment, but we were denied.
Tell Jack’s Pet Center to do right by the monkeys and retire them to a sanctuary!

This is so upsetting… if I lived anywhere near them then I would be saving up all my pocket money and buying them the fruit (as it says $1 on the sign on the window) until they get moved.
This is abuse…

So I just sent an email, and I will call as soon as my cold is gone, and I can talk. This is sooo wrong, and absolutly inhumane! Give these monkeys to Peta2! They will take care of them the right way! Please find it in your heart to let these animals be free from torture.

They’re not meant to be confined into a small area.. they’re wild animals, and they’re now surrounded by brick walls. Let them be, and just retire them already.

those poor monkeys have been there as long as I can remember. They won’t give them up. And they’ve had babies and I’m not sure how many moneys there has been. Their whole store is pretty deplorible with alot of sick animals. Nobody seems to care in this town as this has been going on for years and years. I’m sure I’ll get backlash just for writing this but they should be shut down for the animals sakes.
