The Story of peta2′s (Not a) Nugget …

Nugget at the beach

He’s everyone’s favorite chick, but do you know where (Not a) Nugget came from? Like billions of other birds, Nugget started out in the meat industry—where chickens are forced to live in crowded, filthy sheds with thousands of other scared birds. When they are only 6 or 7 weeks old (still babies!), they are crammed into cages and trucked to slaughter.

At the slaughterhouse, their legs are forced into shackles, their throats are cut, and they are dunked into scalding-hot water to remove their feathers.

Most chickens raised in the meat industry never see sunlight or breathe fresh air.

Can you imagine being in their place?

So how did Nugget survive? He escaped! And now, to speak up for all his fellow chickens, Nugget has teamed up with outspoken vegetarian Morrissey (you should know him and love him—just sayin’) to create a new video showing the world what happens to chicks who are killed for food. Watch the new video, titled “Someday,” now:

My friends dad owns a Tyson chicken ‘farm,’ IF you can call that metal shack a farm and when PETA tells you what happens to them in videos (like From Farm to Fridge, which is actually why I stopped eating meat in the first place) I can tell you- it’s all true. Chickens are so horribly abused. It’s heartbreaking.
