Ahhh, Thanksgiving—the weird holiday when people give thanks by eating a slaughtered bird. A little creepy, yeah, but Thanksgiving doesn’t have to be awkward for vegetarians and vegans!
peta2′s Thanksgiving checklist is coming to the rescue with recipes, tips on replacing common ingredients with vegan versions, and even a Q&A section to help convince your parents to serve some food that you can actually eat! Yay!

My family would not give up their turkey on Thanksgiving, but thankfully my mom went out and bought me a vegan roast and vegan pumpkin pie.

For Thanksgiving my boyfriend and I had a tofurkey and some vegetarian sides but I couldn’t get my parents to give up the turkey for the holiday. :/ At least I got some animal friendly food. ^.^

My whole family is vegetarian/vegan and for thanksgiving we had a tofurkey, vegan green bean casserole (thanks for the recipe!), vegan stuffing, and vegan mashed potatoes! It was absolutely delicious! My extended family tasted our food and they were surprised at how good it was and how much it tasted like what they think of as “normal” food!
