OK, so I have two things to admit. One, I read Teen Vogue. Two, I just started watching Girls. What do these have in common? Allison Williams, the awesome Marnie on Girls, was featured in Teen Vogue not too long ago, and she talked about her love for rescued dogs!

For my whole childhood, we had a white wolflike rescue dog named Lucy. I want to adopt a big dog so badly, but it’s not fair to work my hours, live in Manhattan, and have a dog like that. Someday … that’s what I keep telling myself!

Because she knows how to keep it real, Allison knows that ultimately, she’s too busy to care for a rescued pup right now. And we think that is awesome cuz it takes a lot of maturity to realize that a companion animal of any kind takes a LOT of time, care, and patience.

Buying animals means killing animals. Because 6 to 8 million dogs and cats enter animal shelters every year, buying from a pet store or breeder means that one fewer shelter animal will get a chance at finding a loving home.

Major props to Allison for knowing how to keep it real! We ♥ you! Now it’s your turn:
