In a historic announcement today, SeaWorld said that it has ended its orca-breeding program and that the orcas confined to the parks are “the last generation of orcas at SeaWorld.”

SeaWorld’s statement reads, “Times have changed, and we are changing with them.” This decision is a direct result of compassionate people like YOU, who never stopped speaking out for whales, spreading the truth about captivity, and pledging never to go to SeaWorld until it stops using animals for entertainment.

Together, we helped spare innumerable future orcas the misery and loneliness of being confined to a tank! 🙌

SeaWorld has taken a great step forward, but the park plans to keep the remaining orcas in tanks for the rest of their lives. We can’t let this happen. For decades, orcas, beluga whales, seals, and many other animals have suffered while confined to SeaWorld’s cramped enclosures. To do right by the captive animals, SeaWorld must move them to ocean sanctuaries (sea pens) so that these long-suffering animals can live in a more natural setting outside of prison tanks.

Please keep the pressure on SeaWorld to move the remaining orcas to ocean sanctuaries. And NEVER buy a ticket to any SeaWorld park until it stops confining all animals for profit.

Our voices make a difference. Continue to spread the word!
