It’s no secret the American Idol, turned Grammy Award, Billboard Award, and Country Music Award winner Carrie Underwood is talented. I’m not a country music fan, but there is no denying that she’s got It…the press think so too because she’s covered in pretty much every gossip rag and teen mag on the stands. So I wasn’t shocked when I logged on to AIM and discovered that question #3 of their Carrie Underwood quiz was about her 2005 World’s Sexiest Vegetarian win. I was pleasantly surprised but not shocked—it takes a lot to shock me any more, even the recent rash of pantyless celebs didn’t shock me, sad right?— because Carrie talks about rescuing animals, being veg, and how much she cares about animals pretty much all of the time. “Ever since I was little I loved animals,” the country crooner says. “They depend on people to take care of them. If you told me I could never sing again, I’d say that was horrible, but it’s not my life. If you told me I could never be around animals again, I would just die.”Awwww, what a sweetheart! Here she is in her “V is for Vegetarian” tee shirt. I’ve even spotted her in her “Jesus Loves Me Too!” peta2 tee shirt on Inside Entertainment Access Hollywood Tonight— it was on one of them. I can’t remember which now but I remember being super excited when I saw it. And trust me; I’ve got a memory like an elephant…maybe that’s why I love them so much.

I have always lived in Los Angeles but my family and I went to Mexico for my parents wedding. So we came back to LA. I don't like LA but were here already what can I do unless I move out and find my own housing. I have always liked animals and it was til I was like about 14 when I learned about tests they do on animals and I began to explore animal cruelty because I was interested it in it. I have watched videos that just broke my heart so that's why today I'm doing all I can to not buy anything that has harmed an animal and I'm vegetarian .
I'm tall, I love sewing, fashion and the environment, also I'm vegetarian (wannabe vegan.) Obviously, I love animals! :)

HI CARRIE! IT’S ME AGAIN AND THIS TIME I HAVE BEEN ALMOST VEGAN FOR A MONTH. I LEARNED ABOUT THE CRUELTY OF DAIRY AND EGGS, BUT I THOUGHT FREE-RUNNING HEN EGGS WERE CRUELLESS. I ATE THOSE FOR A FEW WEEKS, THAN I MADE A RESEARCH THAT THEY MAY NOT BE CRUELLESS AS I THOUGHT. ANYWAY, I AM SO USED TO BEWARE REGULAR EGGS THAT I DON’T REALLY DARE EAT ANY EGG AGAIN. EGGS TASTE SO WEIRDLY FOR ME SINCE I AM NOT USED TO THEM ANYMORE! YOU ARE STILL THE BEST ANIMAL LOVER IN THE WORLD AND I REALLY STILL ADORE YOU!

I USED TO EAT A LOT OF MEAT AND THAT MADE ME UNHAPPY. I AM STILL HAPPY I WENT TO SEE BRYAN ADAMS THE FIRST DAY I WAS OFFICIALLY VEGETARIAN(AUGUST 10 TH 2009) AND I LEARNED THAT CARRIE IS A FEW MONTHS LATER THAT CARRIE IS AND THAT’S HOW SHE BECAME MY IDOL! CARRIE, YOU ARE THE BEST!

I am vegetarian too! I love that she is really kind of humble about it and how much she loves animals. I love that she says if she had to get rid of singing it would be awful but it isn’t her life.But if she had to stop being around animals she would die!

I Love Carrie Underwood and I really want to be a vegetarian. I’ve tried to for manyyears but I feel like I can’t give up meat because my mom says that meat keeps you healthy but just to keep me “healthy” is killing millions of animals. Please help!!! I Love animals!

Relating to that shirt, compassion for animals was also a prominent theme in John Paul II’s papacy. Pope John Paul proclaimed that “the animals possess a soul and men must love and feel solidarity with our smaller brethren.â€

well im trying to become a veggie person but its hard cause i’ve grown up on a farm all my life and was raised to eat meat but its juss that its hard to change from something ur used to but carrie underwood has inspired me to change so im so thankful that the good lord put her out there for me to look up to shes my role model and always will be shes such a wondrerful person thank you so much carrie

im a vegatarian its very hard my family is big on home cooked meals i just cant eat somethings body and flesh. but anyways, i think its wonderful that carrie is a vegatarian i mean she really has her head on her shoulders unlike most celebs today.

I figure someone in the industry has to make an influence on there fans. I find it wonderful that she is spreading the word about “PETAâ€? and vegetarianism. I have respect for her although I am not a country fan, but that doesn’t matter because she is a wonderful vegetarian! The thing is she has an influence on her fans and if she is doing it then they will too. Thank god, there is some good influence in this industry instead of the panty clad, fur wearing super stars of today.

Oh my gosh, she is one of my favorite singers. I didn’t even know she was a vegetarian! Wait, in one of her songs it says “I carved my name into his leather seats.” I don’t see how she could stand to sing that. Darn writers.
