It’s DIY beauty time! This homemade vegan beauty recipe features one of the most versatile beauty oils ev-ah: jojoba oil. ? said “ho ho ba

In case you didn’t know, jojoba oil is packed with moisturizing goodness that works wonders for your skin, hair and nails. Today, I want to focus on your skin… your gorgeous face, to be exact.

Jojoba oil closely resembles sebum (the oil we produce), so it tricks our skin into thinking we’ve produced enough facial oil… so basically, it moisturizes without clogging pores or causing zits (it might seem counterintuitive—but trust me—jojoba oil is safe to use on oily and acne-prone skin).

What you’ll need for this super simple, bomb-ass moisturizer:

  • Jojoba oil (I like to buy mine at Trader Joe’s)
  • A few drops of your favorite essential oil (I personally ? lavender—it has antiseptic properties and it smells really pretty)
  • A little glass bottle to store your moisturizer in

Mix the ingredients together. For every teaspoon of jojoba oil, add 1 drop of essential oil. Massage a few drops of the entire mixture directly onto your skin or add to your favorite moisturizer for some extra umph. Ta-da! 😀

What’s your favorite DIY beauty recipe?

I wish there was a trader joe’s near my home. My papaw was telling me how i would really like that store, with how they had alot of natural goods there.

I have heard jojoba is also good for stretching your earlobes. I use tea tree oil, it really exfoliates your skin but burns the eyes as well.

Sunny, you rock for posting this. Jojoba oil is said to be the closest thing to human’s natural oils (sebum) and that’s why it works so well. I have a gigantic bottle of NOW Jojoba oil that I use on my face, body and hair for hot oil treatments.

If you eat from the ground, you should also use beauty products from the ground. Plants, all-natural and never using or testing on animals!
