Elephants in West Hollywood?

Do you remember Juliette West? You know … she’s the high school student whose documentary How I Became an Elephant is winning awards and changing the way people see animals who are used for entertainment.

I got to see How I Became an Elephant at a screening here in West Hollywood, California, last night, and it was stunning! Although it focuses mostly on how elephants are beaten, neglected, whipped, and used in Thailand (including some heartbreaking video footage of how baby elephants are “broken” in order to be trained), it also touches on something that each and every one of us can do: NEVER buy another ticket to a circus, a zoo, an aquarium, or anywhere else where animals are treated like they are here to entertain us. News flash: They’re not!

Check out HowIBecameAnElephant.com for more info and to see if there’s going to be a screening near you!

What about charity conversationalist aquariums and animal sanctuaries?
Are they alright because the animals are saved from their threatened habitat?

Too long to explain here, it's long enough for a novel.

Father loves to farm, be self sustainable, loves to read, he's a antiques/vintage auctioneer, art student, and looks like mr. Rogers. My mother is a Montessori teacher and is amazing with children, all about local organic foods, loves gardening, cooking etc. my sister who is nine years older than me was into indie music and introduced me to all sorts of things at a young age. This all rubbed of on me and from that base I grew into similar things. I'm an INFJ

Well let's just say life ain't always beautiful but it's a beautiful ride. I love all my pets and would do anything for them. I have one dog, two cats, a ferret and my babygirl shaymin,(the cutest hedgehog alive) I'm into all different kinds of music. I'm a singer myself and love art.
