Here’s the latest news from Emery. Check out parts one, two and three of the tour diary while you’re at it.
Hey folks, Joel here. Sorry I haven’t written in awhile. Tour’s been
crazy. We’ve been all over the south as of late. Lots of sweet tea and
grits. And waffle house. Mmm, I love Waffle House. Yesterday, we were in Baton Rouge. We had a little time to kill, so we decided to go see a movie, “Friday Night Lights.” Good movie. Anyway, on the way to the theater, we missed the turn so we drove on past and turned into the next lot. Made a quick U-turn, and pulled back out to make a left hand turn across the median. Dang, if there wasn’t a solid median with no turn lane in it. So we were in the opposing lanes headed in the wrong direction. We said to heck with it and went for it. It was about 600 feet or so, so we figured we could make it. Traffic started coming but we had plenty of room. Only one thing wrong here. The first car in that group was a cop. He pulled us right over. He came up to the window and said, “You gotta be kidding me, man.” We said we were from out of town, didn’t know any better, all that crap. I guess he was in such a state of disbelief that he let us go. So that’s cool. On to Texas. More to come.
