Animals are remarkable. They’re intelligent, they love their families, they value their lives, and they have the same capacity to feel love, joy, pain, and fear as we do.

So why then, if we have so much in common with animals, do we eat them?

Most of us are raised to believe that animals don’t deserve the right to live their lives freely without fear of what humans will do to them. Thankfully, countless people every single day are realizing why this “logic” is majorly flawed.

Bottom line: Animals are here for their own reasons, not ours, and we shouldn’t eat them. Here are 16 reasons why:

1. Because this baby lives in a dirty, fly-invested veal crate.

2. Because this goat is about to be slaughtered.

11. Because these cows don’t want their baby taken away.

You’ve seen these heartbreaking images. Now what?

I am literally laying in my bed crying. This is soooo f-ed up! I can’t believe people can live their lives knowing that when they wake up in the morning they are going to their ‘job’ to steal innocent babies from their mothers and wheelbarrow them to prisons and later kill them after they steal other mothers innocent babies!!!! :'( I can’t believe this!!! My youngest cat of four is sitting on me and I couldn’t imagine what her life would be like if she didn’t have such a good home, my mom and I have such a soft spot for animals that if she read this she would cry so much worse! We got the Ella (Youngest) from Petco and I hate them after reading about what happened in the past. I’m soooo glad we saved her from that living hell! She was locked up in a cage with a glass panel with holes to breathe, just for her to gaze up at me and make me wanna cry. Thank you sooooo much Peta2 for spreading the word about animal torture and abuse!! When I found your website I almost literally jumped for joy but I couldn’t cuz I was in the library. Shhhhhhh. But thank you!!! May all animals have a happy life and avoid torture as much as possible!!!!!!!!
