Five Ways to Get Your Boyfriend to Go Vegan

So you’re vegan, officially off the market, and wrapped up in boyfriend bliss … except for the fact that your BF still eats zombie food (aka wings, breasts, thighs, ribs, etc.). What’s a gal to do? Spread the vegan love!

Five Ways to Get Your Boyfriend to Go Vegan

  1. Cook him an out-of-this-world scrummy vegan dish. May I kindly suggest vegan fettuccine Alfredo? He’ll think he died and went to heaven after grubbin’ on your dee-lish noms (and he’ll want to eat food like this all the time).
  2. Develop a crush on a vegan celeb to make your BF jealous. Tell him that (insert sexy vegan celeb’s name) is über HOT for his animal-lovin’ ways. ?You don’t have to be douchey about it … subtly works too!
  3. While he’s not looking, type in “Meat.org” on his laptop (and then act all nonchalant). What? So it may be a little sneaky, but this method of sharing information has been proven to work compassionate wonders! You could always go the nonsneaky route, too, and say, “Look, Boo. I really want you to check out this website.” 🙂
  4. Invite him to tag along with you to your next vegan potluck or outing, veg society club meeting, etc. Once he gets a peep at what makes you tick, he’ll feel more inclined to share your interests.
  5. Take your sugar lumpkin to a nearby animal sanctuary so that he can see how sweet and beautiful all animals are. Make it a date! Some of these places even allow you to have picnics. 😉

Bookmarked, favorited, and +1d. I got my boyfriend to give up red meat, but I’m definitely going to try to convince him to go vegetarian or vegan!
    Thanks for the tips!

My boyfriend is vegetarian, but not vegan… I love him and love that he doesn’t want to kill animals, but I don’t think he understands the benefits of being vegan or the pain that not being vegan causes the animals he claims to care so much about. I was vegetarian for years and years before becoming vegan, but I eventually realized that it was hypocritical of me to make animal rights my number 1 cause in life and not be vegan. My boyfriend went vegetarian two years ago a bit after we first started dating, and I am confident now that he would never eat meat even if we broke up, but he still refuses to be vegan… I don’t know what to do. He didn’t even eat vegan on Valentine’s Day! = (

Also, he eats gelatin, and when his mom bought milk that was omega-3 enriched (with fish oil) he said he didn’t care that much!!!! I was mortified

I guess that’s pretty nice I have no boyfriend. It’s better to date nobody than to spend your life for a person who doesn”t even want to understand that eating meat and wearing leather&fur is as cruel as raping and murdering people.
Well, moreover, I’m from Ukraine and it’s really difficult to find here someone who would be interested in animal rights.

I’m a 4 year vegetarian, and my boyfriend had been a vegetarian before, but hadn’t been recently, and he went back to it since we’ve been together, and he really is glad that he did. He said it’s way easier to be vegetarian now because I cook so often, haha. He’s been going strong for several months now 🙂 He loves animals too. He’s recently been taking an interest in helping me with my peta street team missions too 🙂

my Boyfriend says he wants to go Vegetarian, but its too hard for him. plus his dad doesn’t think highly of my choices, and he is very cruel to his own animals.

#2 is ridiculous & petty. You should only ave eyes for your man in the first place & doing that can greatly backfire.

Buuut, my boyfriend was veg for 7 years & went back to meat to gain muscle. After being with/& living with me for 9 months, & my constant involvement in a cruelty-free lifestyle, he is going to cut meat out of his diet again in a short while 😀

That button is GREAT! Oh how I wish I had one to tote around with me 🙂

I didn’t ask him to, but a past boyfriend of mine went vegetarian on his own. My being vegetarian and hence only eating vegetarian when we went out, and gushing at him about animals like all the time, probably helped, though 🙂

We’re no longer a couple, but he’s still vegetarian, AND he’s proof that people can be suuuuper intense about sports (he’s some insane percentage muscle and captain of the swim team) and still be vegetarian – in fact, he says that he’s actually felt better since becoming a vegetarian!

I know my boyfriend loves animals but he just can’t give up whoppers :/ I do fix him up vegan food though. I’d rather he make the decision to eat cruelty free than mr pushing it on him.

All I had to say when I first started dating my boyfriend was, “Vegans boys are hot.” He went vegetarian like instantly and is now vegan.

(Though he says I only played a small role in his decision)

    Great blog Sunny! 🙂
