Flesh-Free Friday: The Onion Ring Burger!

Avatar of Rachelle-O

Sad news: It’s our last Flesh-Free Friday together, but I’m pretty confident you’ll be sticking to meat-free weeks considering what you’ve learned this summer (that flesh is for zombies, duh!). I’m leaving you with a burger that will no doubt impress your zombie friends. Check it!

The Onion Ring Burger

Replace:

  • Beef patty with veggie burger (I’m using Amy’s brand!)

Other Ingredients:

Hamburger buns

Frozen onion rings

Lettuce leaves

Tomato slices

Pickle slices

Mustard

Ketchup

  • Throw your onion rings onto a baking sheet and bake according to the instructions on the bag (probably about 20-25 minutes).
  • When you’ve only got about 10 minutes left on the onion rings, prepare your veggie burgers on the grill or in a frying pan on the stove. I love tabletop grills, personally.
  • When your onion rings and burgers are done, grab your buns and layer your toppings! Put your onion rings on bottom, the burger next, and then the lettuce, tomato, and pickle. Top with your fave condiments (I like ketchup and mustard!).

Makes 1 serving

I’m not a fan of veggie burgers. I was never a fan of eating beef when I did eat meat. I am a huge fan of tofu and boca chik’n nuggets and patties I live dipping the nuggets in agave nectar.

This looks pretty good, but it’d be even better if you made your own homemade veggie patties. I make an awesome beet veggie burger that would taste great with the onion rings on it. Bonus is there’s no fillers and you control the quality. It’s pretty fast and cheap to make too. Here’s the recipe: http://apartmentsteading.com/?p=130

Make sure the onion rings weren’t fried in beef oil!

There’s vegan frozen onion rings? What brand? I haven’t spent a lot of time looking for them, bu the ones I have looked at have been non-vegan.

Father loves to farm, be self sustainable, loves to read, he's a antiques/vintage auctioneer, art student, and looks like mr. Rogers. My mother is a Montessori teacher and is amazing with children, all about local organic foods, loves gardening, cooking etc. my sister who is nine years older than me was into indie music and introduced me to all sorts of things at a young age. This all rubbed of on me and from that base I grew into similar things. I'm an INFJ

I want to get into marketing but not have to rely on people which have different morals and worldviews than I do to hire me. While I'm figuring this out, I want to show everyone what I believe in and spur them into action against injustices.
