I’ve got some amazing news for all you veganistas out there. Free People, the ultimate boho-chic, girly-yet-edge-y clothing line (and one of my personal faves), has just introduced an entire collection of something I can’t get enough of … vegan leather. [Insert happy dance here!]
As a fan of both cruelty-free fashion and Free People, this announcement was as exciting as finding out one of your fave celebs has gone veg, or when you discover a vegan version of something you used to love eating. Discovering that someone (or some brand) you love also loves animals is pretty much the best feeling ever, am I right?
Their compassionate collection makes sense seeing as how a lot of their designers are also vegetarian. After all, loving animals means not eating OR wearing them. Using vegan leather also reduces their carbon footprint so double kudos to them! Take a peek at their vegan leather-licious clothes and hear what the designers have to say about cruelty-free fashion and vegetarianism:

Honestly? It doesn’t seem fair, that VEGAN, means EXTREMELY EXPENSIVE!!!!
WHY IS IT MORE EXPENSIVE THAN REAL LEATHER? Yes I’m vegan, but it seems to me like these designers are trying to take advantage of fellow vegans by charging “an arm & a leg” for something that’s supposed TO HELP SAVE LIVES!! It isn’t necessary because the fabrics and materials used in making these clothes & shoes is NOT expensive! I know! BECAUSE I’M A DESIGNER WHO DOESN’T OVERCHARGE FELLOW VEGANS!
