Free Stuff Friday: 'Elephant Girl' Graphic Novel
Are you a graphic novel fan? Well, check it out. Not only are we giving away a graphic novel, but it’s one that deals with the plight of animals in captivity and human exploitation.
Elephant Girl by Coco Hall, is a heartfelt story that parallels the lives of a young girl, Shashi, and Kala the elephant. They were both kidnapped in India as children, smuggled into the US, and became victims of captivity. Hall keeps it real in the book with both her depictions and language (it’s gritty, raw, and contains some adult language and scenarios). I’ve personally read it, and it’s intense—such a good book. I can’t wait for you to read it, too!
