If you’re anything like me, discovering new quirky, fun, handmade beauty products is one of the greatest joys in life. If that rings true, you’re in for a treat!

I recently discovered Metropolis Soap Co., and I basically flipped out over their pulp comic-themed vegan soap and skincare products. They’re not only super unique, fun, and cutely packaged, but the are all made from scratch with 100% vegan ingredients. Holla!

They have so many wonderful scents to choose from, and because they are all fab, we want you to try all of them. That’s why this week we’re giving away their fancy sampler box! It contains 13 mini bars of their entire vegan artisan soap collection, including the specialty bars! Score!

For your chance to win one of two sets of this Metropolis Soap Bar Sampler Box, comment below and tell us about some of your favorite animal-friendly beauty products. Entries must be received by April 29, 2011. Two winners will be chosen at random and notified on May 2, 2011.

Just so you know, by commenting here, you’re acknowledging that you’ve read and agreed to our privacy policy.

GOOD LUCK!

Personally, I completely ADORE GeoGirl and Dickinson’s tonics and toners. My face has cleared up a lot, my blackheads are gone, and my skin glows! My makeup consists of Avon and Clinique. Both brands keep a nice smooth, natural feeling on my lashes and skin, but are just as beautiful as any other brand. I also use this lip plumper from Sephora called lip venom. It really makes my naturally thinner lips look bombshell-like. Other than that, my beauty products are mostly just herbs and spices. I don’t use a lot of chemical-filled things on my body

We have a Jack O Lantern tree, we get each other presents and wrap them in black paper with orange and purple ribbon, etc. We also love vegan pumpkin pie, and the Tofurky roasts. Not to mention all of the other wonderful vegan pumpkin delicacies like pumpkin Silk, cookies, ice cream, etc.

I.LOVE.THANKSGIVING. I spend all week beforehand preparing my list and buying things and meticulously planning out the cooking times so everything will be finished together. I get up real early and lay everything out and start lovingly cooking everything. Everything is as homemade as I can get it and all cooked by me (no one else is allowed in the kitchen!) Finally, I get out the fancy dishes and lay my feast out. I even get special canned dog food so my furbabies can have a ‘special’ meal with us.

It pretty awesome since I didn’t like real turkey and I always hated Thanksgiving before I was vegan. Now I eat delicious Tofurkey and it might just be my favorite holiday.

I love getting up really early in the morning on easter to get ready to go to church, then going to my family easter dinner, and kareoke because we’re major nerds. Nothing like spending all day with the people i love and sharing my vegan food with the whole family. Normally i make something then for everyone who grabs some i put fliers next to it for people to read while they eat my dessert. They always complain when i tell them about cruelty while their eating it, but vegan dessert is gag free!

My favorite companion animal holiday tradition actually extends across all holidays – it’s about keeping my furry friends safe! Be it keeping the kitty out of the recycling on Earth Day – no matter how delicious of a treat that compost may seem, or making sure no one is slipping unhealthy snacks to my chinchillas during our holiday parties, it’s about making sure my good time does not lead to my pet’s discomfort.

This also extends beyond my own furry family and into the lives of all creatures I can aid. As a teacher, I educate my students that rabbits and chicks are not toys to be played with on Easter and then thrown away, and that the turkey on their Thanksgiving table would be much more thankful if they chose a vegetarian or vegan lifestyle. In this way, my AR holiday traditions are more about what I don’t do than what I do – I don’t act selfishly at the expense of animals, and that’s my tradition everyday!

Okay. I havent been a vegitarian for long but this is a new tradition:

Thanksgiving- Buy a box of Chic’n’ faux meat nuggets, top with delious homemade cranberry sauce, and on the side, hot vegan tomato soup and a glass of ginger ale! Delicious!

Christmas- While my parents and sister eat cod fish, I whip up vegan chocolate pudding from your recipe in the go vegan go vegitarian magizine. I also eat fried potatos and faux “riblets”. Delish!

The past 3 years I have made a Tofurky, home-made, for house full of people I live with. If I get it just right I love it of course, if not, other people won’t even mess with it.

My favorite holiday tradition starts in the morning, when even at 20 my mom still leaves me an easter basket. Now it is all vegan candy and different little gifts. She always leaves small candies, jolly ranchers last year, as a trail to the basket. She still to this day insists that she doesn’t do it, that the easter bunny leaves it for me. It is just a really cute tradition that my mom loves to do every year.

my favorite cruel free holiday tradition is cooking vegan sides on thanksgiving. my family is not vegan or the least bit vegetarian, but its awsome to see them enjoy and indulge in my cooking. i love being able to be the one to introduce my family to healthy vegan meals. also show them a better understanding of who i am and why i dont have any part of the turkey or ham. a little goes a long way. this is coming from a family who thinks vegans and vegetarians are odd and strange beings from another plant! i will continue this tradition till the day i die. maybe, just maybe, ill change someones eating habits and views toward my lifestyle.

My favorite animal-friendly holiday tradition has to do with Lent. It’s actually the reason I became a vegetarian. I’m Greek Orthodox, and when we fast for Lent we have to maintain a very strict vegetarian diet. After many times fasting, I realized the best I’ve felt physically, mentally, and spiritually was during those times when I wasn’t eating meat.

They have (vegetable) cat treats, covered with a little kitty nip, and milk baked for a few minutes. So our best friends get to celebrate with us. They get their own stockings too with toys.
