I have always loved bunnies! At one time I had 5 bunnies. Bucky, Lulu, Boyfriend, Tonton, Gorgina and Stew.

My favorite story is of Boyfriend and Lulu. I wasn’t supposed to keep Boyfriend and I already had Lulu. Boyfriend came to me because he was going to be “thrown out”. I had to take him in. I said I would give him a home. So, I needed to leave him home one day while I went to work. They hadn’t been introduced yet, so I had to keep them separated. But, when I got home……… “Boyfriend” and Lulu were side by side snuggling together. From then on they were bestfriends and we named Boyfriend Boyfriend because he was Lulus boyfriend!!!!

Ive had many rabbits growing up and they are are completely different.. their personalities are all different from eachother and they all get attached to small things such as people do, my rabbit snowball always wanted this small mouse stuffed animal and she would go looking for it if it wasnt in her cage, once i put it in the living room to see what would happen, and i brought her into the room and she picked up the toy and hopped to her cage with it …

Rabbits tend to hide their nests in plain view. They often put them in the open, for example in the middle of the lawn, as well as in brush piles and long grass. If you find a nest that has been disturbed, do all you can to restore and protect it rather than bring the babies inside. If a dog has discovered the nest, you can put a wheelbarrow over it so that the mother can get to it but the dog cannot. You can also protect the nest with a wicker laundry basket with a hole cut in it for the mother to enter. Nests can be moved to a safer place up to 10 feet away from the original site and can be reconstructed if necessary. To make a new nest, dig a shallow hole about 3″ deep and put into it as much of the original material as you can recover, including the mother’s fur. Add dried grass as needed, and put the young back. Mother rabbits return to the nest to nurse only one or two times a day, staying away as much as possible so as not to attract predators. To determine if the mother is returning, create a tic-tac-toe pattern over the nest with twigs. Wait 24 hours to see if the twigs have been moved. If they have, then the mother is coming back. Very young babies with eyes closed and ears back rarely survive in captivity, so it is very important to determine whether or not the babies really need your help. See if the babies seem warm and healthy or cold, thin and dehydrated. To test for dehydration, gently pinch the loose skin at the back of the neck. If it stays in a “tent,” then the baby is dehydrated and needs rehabilitation. Another test is to stroke the genital area to stimulate elimination. If the pee is brown and gritty, the mother rabbit has not been there to help the babies urinate. The brown, gritty urine is toxic and the babies must be cared for. Older babies who are found outside of the nest may not be orphaned or in need of assistance. Babies are born without fur but develop a full coat in a week. Their eyes open in 6-10 days and in three weeks they are weaned. At this age they are about as round as a banana and they may leave the nest to explore but return there to sleep. To determine if a bunny this age needs help, perform the same dehydration and urine tests. Also look for bleeding, convulsing, fly larvae, broken limbs.

    Bunny fun fact:
My bunny runs in circles when I come to play with her. She munches on lettuce all weird and adorable like. And she loves playing with my puppies. She helps them get their energy out, as well as hers. And my favourite one, she sleeps above my head on my pillow and doesn’t do her bunny business on it! She jumps down and goes to her box then comes back up and goes back to sleep.

My best buddy, my bunny Duchess, loves it when I come home from school. That means she gets to come inside and play! She runs around me in circles when she is super happy making this silly honking sound. When she finally gets her daily head rub, she’ll run around the house at top speed and stop abruptly at my feet. The best part is she’s litterbox trained! She picked up on using it suprisingly quickly, munching on timothy hay while she does the deed.

Four species commonly known as types of hare are classified outside of Lepus: the hispid hare (Caprolagus hispidus), and three species known as red rock hares (Pronolagus spp.).

Warbles is a disease common to rabbits that are kept outside and exposed to flies. This is caused by a fly egg that invades the skin. You will see a swelling with an open sore in the center. The egg needs to be removed carefully to prevent infection or fatal toxic shock. Do not crush the egg. Warbles can be prevented by providing screened housing for your pet.- http://petrabbitcare.org/health-illness/

bunnies are so adorable and cute, I want 1 so much but I have 2 cats so I don’t think that’s the best idea :[ ,except 4 a clacking noise they make with they’re teeth which isn’t loud they don’t make any noise at all and they’re little so if you love animals but you live in an apartment that’s too small for a dog a bunny’s perfect 4 you ,it doesn’t take much to feed them their diet consists of pellets, carrots, and lettuce, bunnies adore vegtables, they hop everywhere which just makes them cuter plus it’s a well known fact that bunnies are smart did I mention how adorable they are … love them =:+< * how do you like my bunny* :)

Like dogs, a bunny year is different than a human year. One human year is the same as 10 bunny years. The typical life span of a bunny is eight to 10 years if they are not neutered and 10 to 14 years if they are neutered.

Bunnies don’t lay chocolate eggs, which can be confusing to children at Easter time. :)

This tradition is actually derived from Ostara, the goddess of the moon, spring and fertility who was depicted with the ears of a hare and a hare standing next to her in an anglo-saxon myth. The hare laid brightly coloured eggs, which were given out to children at spring fertility festivals.

I don’t suggest collecting anything chocolate-looking eggs that your bunny leaves behind!

When I got my rabbit, she was pretty scared of everything: My family and my DOG. My dog wanted to play with her and started running after her, while my rabbit was trying to escape and hide. Now, my rabbit isn’t as scared as my dog is. This week, I put my rabbit towards my dog and my dog jump immediatly, because she was scared. When I let my rabbit alone, she’s going strait to my dog to play with her, while my dog hide her tail between her two legs and lay down to hide herself… How funny it is to see that changement 😛

Rabbits cannot vomit, they are also hind gut fermentors they also will lick people (like a dog does) to show affection and only the most trustworthy of rabbit will allow its owner to lie it on its back as rabbits hate this and have been known to simply struggle so much that they break their backs. Also, if you do not hold a rabbit properly i.e with its spine curved, you will cause it extreme discomfort and will almost definitely break its back. :)

My rabbit (Thumper) is such a unique being. haha it makes me Laugh out loud everytime i talk about him. Rabbits, much like dogs and cats, have thier very own personality, mine happens to binkie(jump frivolously in the are) right onto the wall and very smoothly kick of of it, like its some sort of game. He’s just such a character. Thumper will tell you when he wants loves, such at a rub on the nose or a good ol’ back massage, then he’ll give you a “kiss” (lick) and flop right next to you after your kind act has been recieved. You have to earn your trust with bunnies, because naturally they are very shy and territorial. I absolutely love when he hops directly on my lap to watch tv with me, and he litterally will sit there and watch it. It’s amazing how they have so many talents and human like abilitys. He is the best thing thats happend to me. i love my bunn-bunns.

Bunnies know how to beg and they are experts at it. My very own will be happy to do a free demo. Bunnies are master manipulators along with their guinea pig friends. They can also be the most forgiving companions. If you can’t have one of your own, volunteer with a local shelter or rescue. They need help socializing the bunnies among other things. You’ll get your bunny fix and be doing a good deed at the same time.

I learned at college (I study animal management) that rabbits eat their lighter coloured faeces to gain extra nutrients because their diet is quite poor :) I find that pretty interesting – and they can recieve fly strike during the summer where flys lay eggs at their rear- end because of feaces and the maggots eat away and can cause death if not caught in time :( check your rabbits rear-ends between May/June-August! although it can occur at any time.

Bounce had a broken leg, but by some miracle, we got to see Bounce bounce away into the woods by my best friends house. :) Thats something I will never forget, not only didn’t I get to spend time with my best friend doing something I love, I got to save a life, because without us, Bounce would of died a horrible death.

Ok so i am a cat owner. One of the cats came in the house with a baby bunny in his mouth. I ever so gentle bopped him on the top of the head and said “Spit that out.” I than had the pleasure of comforting the bunny till he felt safe and released him back in the wild. I stood there for a while making sure he got away and was safe. I love the interaction you get to have with wild animals sometimes.

Or when it rains in the desert and you ask what is that smell, people will say “Its bunny piss.”
