Calling all vinyl junkies—this one’s for you!
Whether they’re promoting animal adoption, talking about their vegetarian diets, or hanging out with peta2’s other besties Rise Against, Silverstein RULES!
If there’s anything peta2 loves more than awesome, compassionate bands, it’s musicfrom awesome, compassionate bands! And that’s why we’re giving away two copies of Silverstein’s latest album, Short Songs, on vinyl. Silverstein used their 2011 album, Rescue, to draw attention to the companion animal overpopulation crisis, and Short Songs is no follow-up flop.
Each of the 22 tracks packed on this album are under 90 seconds–so punk rock! Side A features 11 original Silverstein tracks, and the band delivers again on Side B with 11 classic punk covers. The title track, a cover of Dead Kennedys’ “Short Songs,” features a ton of guest vocals, including peta2 homies Tim McIlrath (Rise Against), Chris #2 (Anti-Flag), Chris Hannah (Propagandhi), and Nick Diener (The Swellers).

My mother is a Montessori teacher and is amazing with children, all about local organic foods, loves gardening, cooking etc. my sister who is nine years older than me was into indie music and introduced me to all sorts of things at a young age. Well let's just say life ain't always beautiful but it's a beautiful ride. I love all my pets and would do anything for them. I have one dog, two cats, a ferret and my babygirl shaymin,(the cutest hedgehog alive) I'm into all different kinds of music. I'm a singer myself and love art.
I love animals about as much as rock, heavy metal, tea, and coffee. Hoping to make a difference and help animals through PETA!!!
I want to get into marketing but not have to rely on people which have different morals and worldviews than I do to hire me. While I'm figuring this out, I want to show everyone what I believe in and spur them into action against injustices.

my favorite song by silverstein is “you’re all i have”. the lyrics, “without you here i’m left for dead”. it really just speaks to me that animals don’t have a voice, they don’t. they have noises but nothing we can understand. they can feel just as much as we can. and without us defending them, and fighting for animal rights, there will be no hope, in which case they will die..

Out of so many amazing and inspiring lyrics from my absolute favourite band, my favourite lyrics from Silverstein is definitely from the album “A Shipwreck in the Sand” from the album title song “A Shipwreck in the Sand”! The lyrics are as followed:
