Throughout the years, humans have done some really messed-up things, and many of those things are still happening right in front of us—you might even be supporting them.

For example, some humans think it’s OK and even funny or entertaining to kidnap living beings, hold them against their will, and force them to do tricks for fear of being violently punished.

Elephant with Bullhook

In the Ringling Bros. circus, elephants are beaten, poked, and jabbed with sharp hooks, sometimes until they are bloody.

SeaWorld orca

SeaWorld keeps animals in small tanks at marine parks around the country, where they are forced to perform needless tricks for “entertainment.”

Tell Gillette to stop testing on animals!

Countless mice, rats, rabbits, and other animals suffer and die in cruel and pointless product testing experiments every year—all for things such as mascara, toothpaste, and shampoo.

Chicken in a cage

Animals in the meat, egg, and dairy industries often live in filthy, cramped conditions—sometimes in crates or cages so small they can’t turn around or spread their wings. Investigations have shown that many animals are beaten, sexually abused, punched, and kicked before being slaughtered.

Some people are actually OK with the fact that animals are tortured and killed in the name of fashion—for things we don’t even need.

Cows used for meat and leather sometimes have their horns cut or burned off, and males are castrated—often without any painkillers!

Chinese Fur Farm

Animals raised for their fur are often slammed to the ground, stomped on, beaten, and even skinned alive on fur farms.

Puppies and other animals purchased from pet stores, which often obtain animals from puppy mills, can come with a hidden history of suffering. In most puppy mills, dogs are kept in tiny filthy cages and face severe neglect as well as abuse. Female dogs are often repeatedly impregnated, and each new litter of puppies is torn away from them.

You can be the hope for animals suffering in these industries. Do something—it’s not hard to stand up for what’s right.
