When you hear “boom, wub wub wub,” what do you think of? Dance? Electronic? Dubstep (or is it “brostep“)?Yeah, me too! To get the weekend started off on the right foot, Ryan and I headed to Santa Barbara, California, to experience our first event of this kind—which is all thanks to peta2′s buddy Steve Aoki. Our mission? To get everybody to pledge to be fur-free, duh!
Since this was my first time at an event like this, I really had no idea what I was getting myself into. I’ve tabled at loads of odd events in my time, but I’m mostly used to tabling at punk shows, so I was a bit worried that I wouldn’t fit in (we all have that fear, right?). I’m used to seeing raised fists and people screaming along to lyrics from their favorite songs, and this night was full of raised fists and people dancing to their favorite music.
Overall, though, this was one of the most welcoming—and positive—events that I’ve ever tabled! All night, we spoke to people about the fur industry, had some solid conversations, and shared a lot of laughs with our new friends. After this, I’m happy to say that you all might be seeing peta2 at more events like this in the future! All night, I felt like my heart was going to explode because of all the bass, but maybe it was because so many people are going to help make sure that animals aren’t being skinned for their fur (corny line of the day?).

Father loves to farm, be self sustainable, loves to read, he's a antiques/vintage auctioneer, art student, and looks like mr. Rogers. My mother is a Montessori teacher and is amazing with children, all about local organic foods, loves gardening, cooking etc. my sister who is nine years older than me was into indie music and introduced me to all sorts of things at a young age. This all rubbed of on me and from that base I grew into similar things. I'm an INFJ
