Ian from New Found Glory Wants Your Help
Ian Grushka, bassist for pop punk sensation New Found Glory, posted a request for fan’s on his personal page at iangrushka.net. What does he want you to do? Well, check out this story from MTV News to find out:
New Found Glory’s Ian Grushka wants the band’s fans to enter an Oscar Mayer essay-writing contest to use the Wienermobile (a giant hot-dog-shaped bus) for one day – and then put it to what he calls “good use,” i.e. spreading vegetarian and animal-rights messages with the help of PETA. The bassist posted a letter to fans on his Web site, iangrushka.net, asking them to use their “creative talents” to come up with ideas that would appeal to Oscar Mayer’s judges so they can hijack the contest. “With a bus this big, there’s no shortage of colorful ways PETA can use the Wienermobile to tell everyone how bad eating meat is for people and animals,” he wrote. The contest ends on Thursday.
Hurry up and enter the contest, for us and for Ian, and leave me a comment telling what you said!
Animal Abusers Beware
This schmuck, Ulysses Zimmerman, pleaded guilty to strangling a poor little dog named Salf & Pepper to death. His punishment, while not nearly enough for his crime, was very fitting.
As part of his plea, Mr. Zimmerman agreed to stand on this street corner in South Union Township, PA, wearing a sign reading, “I Plead Guilty. Animal Cruelty is a Crime. My Dog’s name was Salt & Pepper.” While Ulysses was on the street corner, he had rocks thrown at him, was spat upon and screamed at, and a young gentleman threatened to shoot him.
Pro Surfer and Sexy Vegetarian Anastasia Ashley
If you watched ESPN’s “Cold Pizza” yesterday, then you probably caught Anastasia Ashley talking about PETA and why she is vegetarian. Anastasia was one of the nominees in the peta2 “World’s Sexiest Vegetarian” poll, and even though she didn’t win, she’s still pretty awesome. Everyone here at peta2 wants to wish Anastasia good luck this week when she is surfing in the US Open!
Oh My Gosh, It’s So Big!
Somehow or another, Street Teamer Adam Riedlinger enlarged our Kentucky Fried Cruelty stencil to be big enough to use on the top of his car. I just had to share.
