Did you know that during Canada’s annual war on seals, sealers routinely hook live seals in the eye, cheek, or mouth to avoid damaging the fur, and then drag the bloody, mangled seals across the ice? Many of these gentle, young creatures may not even have eaten their first solid meal or taken their first swim before they are slaughtered for their skin.
The hunters want you to think that that killing these animals is crucial to their survival—but it’s not. (And would clubbing an animal to death ever be excusable anyway?) The seal slaughter is a way for fisherman to get a little bit of extra money during the off season—and every year, thousands of seals pay the ultimate price with their lives. That extra money is dwindling, as countries all over the world ban the import of seal fur—but seals still need your voice!
March 15, 2010 is the International Day of Action for Seals, and throughout the next few weeks, we’re going to be giving you ideas on how YOU can speak up for the seals who are on the ice right now. These seals have no idea that in a few short months, fisherman will appear with their clubs to bludgeon them to death—all for a little extra cash.

Today on Parliment Hill, the government had an all seal meat lunch to show their support for the seal hunt. It is hard to say you are a proud Canadian after watching something so disgusting.

Hey, Michael, you’ve got to be kidding me. The death of the Georgian Luger was an accident, the track was safe up until that day, not to mention he was going faster then anyone had ever gone before, don’t blame Canada for that. I am Canadian, and I am as opposed to the seal hunt as much as possible, but saying stuff about how horrible we are and how we are “inferior” to U.S.A doesn’t do any good to stop these massacres.

It’s pathetic how greedy disgusting humans go and bludgeon poor innocent little seals for a little bit of money, how would they like to be hunted down and killed in such a brutal way? Normally i don’t believe in capital punishment but people who are so greedy, selfish and can’t see seals as more than profit deserve to die.

This is the biggest shame for beautiful Canada and the some people which do not agree with this horrible massacer. The persons which are torturing beautiful animals are able do the same with your kids! How can they love their own family (if they have got one!) and look into their eyes?
How can “human” be so cruel? Those persons do not have any conscience! They must be deeply sick inside because without any heart and soal. Mother nature is looking at them because this is murdering!

To me a person who can club or kill baby seals for their skins are sick,cold-hearted imbeciles. The Canadian Government are also a bunch of heartless jerks. All animals need to be respected and deserve to live a full happy life. The people who wear fur need a wake up call. They need to watch the videos.
