A few weeks ago, we told you about the Matthew Eyton Scholarship Award, for which two people will be chosen to receive $500 to go toward interning at PETA. For those of you who have been slacking, busy, or thinking that you don’t have a chance at winning, we have extended the deadline! That’s right—you now have until Friday, November 16, to apply!

*This contest is open to people only in the U.S. who are 18 to 24 years old. Two winners will be chosen by PETA staffers from submitted essays in which entrants use 1,000 words to explain why they deserve the scholarship to intern with PETA. The scholarship winners will be chosen based on experience in the animal rights movement, creativity, spelling, grammar, and overall dedication to and understanding of animal rights. Essays and résumés must be e-mailed to InternApplicants@peta.org with the subject line “Matthew Eyton Scholarship Award Application” by November 16, 2012. The winners will be chosen and notified by November 20, 2012. The award money cannot be used to purchase anything containing animal products. Award money will be sent to recipients once an agreement form is signed, which will state that the money must be returned if the intern is unable to meet the requirements of the internship (working 30 to 40 hours per week for a minimum of 30 days, completed within six months of receipt of the award). No purchase necessary. Void where prohibited by law.

Father loves to farm, be self sustainable, loves to read, he's a antiques/vintage auctioneer, art student, and looks like mr. Rogers. My mother is a Montessori teacher and is amazing with children, all about local organic foods, loves gardening, cooking etc. my sister who is nine years older than me was into indie music and introduced me to all sorts of things at a young age. This all rubbed of on me and from that base I grew into similar things. I'm an INFJ

Well let's just say life ain't always beautiful but it's a beautiful ride. I love all my pets and would do anything for them. I have one dog, two cats, a ferret and my babygirl shaymin,(the cutest hedgehog alive) I'm into all different kinds of music. I'm a singer myself and love art.

I want to get into marketing but not have to rely on people which have different morals and worldviews than I do to hire me. While I'm figuring this out, I want to show everyone what I believe in and spur them into action against injustices.
