This Lamb's Daring Escape Proves That NO Animal Wants to Die
In Chicago, a lamb escaped a slaughterhouse and ran for his life—and who could blame him? In the video below, you can see a bearded man, most likely a slaughterhouse employee, chasing him.
After the scared lamb is captured, you can hear a man laughing and making the sad comment that he’s “gonna be lamb chops.” The same man is heard saying, “I’d run, too” and “Ah, poor guy,” as the lamb is slammed into the back of a pickup truck. 🙁
Every time we see animals escape the slaughterhouse and run for their lives on the news, we root for them—because we want to live, too. We can only imagine how terrified this lamb was, wandering through the rain and trying to find his way through an unknown environment.
When animals fail to escape, we all know what the outcome will be. And so do they. If slaughterhouses weren’t terrifying places, why would animals risk their lives to escape? Why would they panic when approaching the kill floor?
On today’s factory farms, animals are crammed by the thousands into filthy, windowless sheds or stuffed into wire cages or metal crates. They will never know their family and will be denied everything that’s natural and important to them. They’ll live their lives in darkness until the day they’re killed.
