Lea Michele Asks Bloomberg to Save Horses

Yet another horse used to pull carriages in New York City has dropped dead in the street, adding one more body to a count that continues to grow.

When Lea Michele found out about the horse’s death, she immediately sent a letter to Mayor Michael Bloomberg asking him to support the bill that would replace the cruel carriages with eco-friendly retro cars and allow the remaining horses to go to sanctuaries.

Wherever you live, if you see a horse (or any animal) in distress, contact local humane authorities immediately. If you live in New York and see a horse in trouble, contact the ASPCA at 212-876-7700, extension 4450, and PETA at CIDInfo@peta.org right away.

Never take a horse-drawn carriage ride, and please let New York officials know that you support Intro. Bill 86, which would replace horse-drawn carriages with eco-friendly classic cars.

everyone of those horses should have been sent to a sanctuary a long time ago. how mayor bloomberg can sit idly by and know that those horses should have been sent to a sanctuary. he only cares about himself, he has proven that much all too often.

I know some people think riding in a horse drawn carriage is romantic, but really its just cheesy and it old-fashioned, there are much better ways to see the city. Horse-drawn carriages are just one of those things that should die with the past.

As a kid, I was and am still curious about the great big world we live in, and I thought nothing of animal abuse. But for some or no completely good reasons, I was getting sicker and weaker. Then one day I heard about PETA while I was on the internet. I got a little curious, and I went veg after finding out meat was one of the reasons I was sicker. Right now, I'm still trying to give up meat for my health. But I'm getting there!
