The votes are in! Star champion for animals Lea Michele has won a Do Something Award in the TV Star: Female category. Known for all her solid work standing up for horses who are forced to suffer in traffic—sustaining injuries and contracting diseases—to lead carriages in New York City, Lea isn’t afraid to expose the realities behind horse-drawn carriage cruelty.
It’s time for the horse-drawn carriage industry to end. Please join Lea in calling for an end to horse-drawn carriages in New York City. Contact NYC Council Speaker Christine Quinn and urge her to support a bill seeking to replace the carriages with eco-friendly classic cars.
You can write to Quinn at quinn@council.nyc.ny.us.
Need more info for your e-mail? Check out Lea’s video about the horse-drawn carriage industry.
The 2012 Do Something Awards show airs TONIGHT on VH1. Check your local listings for the time, and tune in to see all the hottest celebs who are out there making a difference!

Hello! My name is Nina, and I am a musician-in-training, and I play 7 instruments. I am a liberal, an LGBT activist, avid reader, composer, singer, and poi spinner. I am vegan, and a strong supporter of animal rights.
I was born in Canada and love peta2. I table every month and meet new people:older and younger. I love music and play the recorder. I'm a 6 year spelling bee champion. Again I love peta2!
I'm tall, I love sewing, fashion and the environment, also I'm vegetarian (wannabe vegan.) Obviously, I love animals! :)
