Did you know that lobsters can live to be 100 years old?!
Like dolphins and many other animals, lobsters use complex signals to explore their surroundings and establish social relationships. Just as we go on vacation, they take long-distance seasonal journeys and are known to travel 100 miles or more each year!
One of the most common ways to kill and cook lobsters is by boiling them alive in a pot of water. Don’t let people fool you about lobsters—scientists have determined that lobsters do feel pain and can often be seen scratching frantically at the side of the pot trying to get out.

So now that summer has begun, please remember never to eat lobsters or any other animal, and tell your family and friends to do the same!

Boiling something alive is disgusting. I hate how some people don’t realize this.

Living in Maine, I have to witness this horrible abuse every summer, and it absolutely breaks my heart. Sometimes I just go to markets and hang out with the lobsters. I wish I could save them all.
I remember when I was little, the first time I actually saw someone I knew boiling a lobster, and I burst out crying. Ugh, it’s so heartbreaking. I wish there was more focus on lobsters in the animal rights community. Poor babies

I’ve always hated the myth that lobsters don’t feel pain. I don’t know who made it up, but it was obviously someone trying to find a way around their guilt.

lobsters are one of the main reasons i became a vegetarian some years ago, it was actually my “last dinner”. when you reason the stupidity to take a beautiful and interesting animal and throw it alive on boiling water or butter… well
its just unacceptable. i love lobsters and crabs and shrimps and sharks and octopus and every other brother animal in the earth/oceans. all the support from mexico and keep on the good work.
