My two favorite things in the world are speaking up for animals and meeting awesome Street Teamers (eating vegan food comes in a close third), and this weekend I got to do both!

We set up in front of a McDonald’s in the Rio Grande Valley of South Texas with posters, leaflets, and stickers to let people know how chickens killed for McDonald’s have their throats cut while they’re still conscious and how many of them are immersed in tanks of scalding-hot water while they are still alive and able to feel pain!

Cars slowed down so that people could read our posters, and many people even stopped to chat with us and grab some stickers and leaflets! We had a great time speaking up for animals—oh, and did I mention that we had yummy vegan snacks afterward? Yep, told ya Street Teamers are awesome!

Check out these pics of the protest:

If you want to organize your own protest, set up a table, or hand out leaflets, just e-mail us at [email protected] and we’ll hook you up with all the materials that you’ll need!

P.S. In addition to speaking up for animals, I also got a tan—SCORE! 😀
