McD's Promoting Vegetarian Superhero

Oh the irony! The Last Airbender comes out in theaters tomorrow and I’m curious to see if Aang, the hero of movie will share his vegetarian views as he did in the Nickelodeon series Avatar: The Last Airbender. *fingers crossed* He should, considering that his character follows a Buddhist and Taoist way of life.

This film is tied in with a massive McDonald’s promotion featuring Airbender commercials and action figures. Are Airbender producers and McCruelty execs hoping audiences won’t notice or care that a corporation that refuses to make even minimal improvements to reduce its cruel treatment of billions of animals is pushing figurines of a passionate animal defender?

Well, we noticed! Help speak up for chickens and encourage McD’s to incorporate a more humane method of slaughter!

Just keepin’ it real,
Sunny

Loved the series. My brothers and I watch it everday if we can. It actually taught some great moral values and partially inspired me to become a vegetarian. Its hilarious how ironic that is. We really need to stop Mcdonald’s business practices

My little brother was watching the tv show this morning and reminded me Aang was vegeterian. It makes me mad that they promote him, as if they don’t massacre animals, make people fat and ugly, destroy the planet, all for money and lie about it.

It’s just a business move, I highly doubt McDonald’s even thought about the main protagonist being a vegetarian. McDonald’s draws kids, Avatar is a kids cartoon. If the CEO of McDonald’s doesn’t want to change the current ways, it doesn’t matter how much hate mail they get because they are McDonald’s and America is fat. Where I live, more than 1/4 of the population is considered obese. As much as I support the cause, if James Skinner doesn’t want to do it, he doesn’t have to. The simple fact is he has enough support from a majority population that doesn’t care what happens to animals because “they taste good”.
