The Secret Life of the American Teenager star Megan Park is no stranger to the public eye. As a member of the hot, young Hollywood elite, Megan gets to choose when and where she performs, but unfortunately animals in the entertainment industry aren’t afforded that same luxury, which is why the Canadian native is asking Ontario officials to stand up for elephants in circuses by completely banning bullhooks (sharp metal pokers).
In a letter delivered today to the Legislative Assembly of Ontario, Megan calls on the Members of Provincial Parliament to support Bill 69, The Elephant Protection Act, which would ban bullhooks and similar devices—which are used to intimidate and hurt elephants—in circuses and zoos in Ontario. PETA has documented years of abuse during which elephants have been routinely struck with bullhooks on the most sensitive parts of their bodies in order to force them to perform tricks.

Hopefully Megan’s hometown pride will inspire compassion in city officials and convince them to ditch the “cruelest show on Earth.” Go get ‘em, Megan!

I have always lived in Los Angeles but my family and I went to Mexico for my parents wedding. So we came back to LA. I don't like LA but were here already what can I do unless I move out and find my own housing. I have always liked animals and it was til I was like about 14 when I learned about tests they do on animals and I began to explore animal cruelty because I was interested it in it. I have watched videos that just broke my heart so that's why today I'm doing all I can to not buy anything that has harmed an animal and I'm vegetarian .
