Oh, and she’s a huge animal lover, too, in case you hadn’t heard. There are always stories and photos of Miley stopping on the side of the road to rescue strays. So we weren’t one bit surprised when we found out that she had rescued some chickens from the set of her new flick, Hannah Montana: The Movie.
Apparently, Miley fell in love with one of the chickens on the movie set and decided to take her and several others home because, according to the article, she thought “they were sad to be working.” (Awww, of course they were—animals aren’t actors!) The article also alludes to the fact that she may be asked to go naked for one of our campaigns—um, no. She’s underage, for goodness’ sake! Not that we wouldn’t LOVE for her to star in any ad for peta2—Miley, in case you’re reading this, we think you’d make a beautiful “Angel for Animals”!
When we find out about celebs who do nice things for animals, we like to acknowledge it, so peta2 is giving Miley Cyrus our ‘Compassionate Citizen’ Award and sending her some yummy vegan chocolates.
Here’s hoping that her love of chickens will make her rethink eating them.
P.S. Marta and I caught a matinee on Sunday—loved it! We knew our beloved Hannah Montana would not let us down.

i honestly think miley cyrus is a terrible role model. she may be a good actress with a funny tv show, but in reality, no little kid should be looking up to her. some people say ‘oh she’s just a kid, 16 year olds post sexy pictures of themselves all the time.’ maybe they do, but it’s not a good thing.

Hello there….I just read many of the opinions write in this blog and I want to say to those who claims that Miley is fake, please cant you let aside the green jealous for a moment?
Maybe she still will eat meat, but….. are you expecting that all the word became vegetarian only because you are?

I think it’s great that someone like Miley Cyrus especially with all the publicity she has gotten noticed for something like this. Personally I am definetley not a fan of hers (sorry), but I do think it is wonderful that she is doing this.

I really can’t stand her. I think she’s fake, and has practically no talent. But then, this definatly raises my respect for her. It was at zero, but now I definatly have a bit more. Atleast she loves animals and helps them. I have to give her a thumbs up on that. *thumbs up* hehe

I’ve never been a big Miley Cyrus/ Hannah Montana fan… at all. This gives me a new respect for her, even though I still don’t personally like her. As of ten seconds ago, I can now stand her. She’s still not on my good list, but she’s definitely not on my bad list.

Awesome!!! CARING about animals and LOVING animals is step one before not eating them!!! Some folks move in baby steps (like me), and I applaud PETA and all the organizations and literature that convinced me (years ago) that if you truly LOVE animals then you can’t eat them and support their suffering and death for food. I truly believe that one day (soon!) Miley will become a vegetarian and not eat animals, because once you realize that they have feelings, emotions, and souls (and she has!), there is NO WAY that you can eat them. YOU GO MILEY!!!

I love Miley!! I really don’t think this is a publiicity stunt. She’s always said she loves animals, and where would saving chickens come from? Most people, unless they really love animals, don’t care about chickens, so it wouldn’t get her much publicity.
Plus, she probably wouldn’t take home the chickens if she didn’t really love animals, because most people hate chickens. My grandfather always thought they were dirty, and he didn’t like them.
I love Miley, and I think this is great.
